New Borderlands 2 character available May 14

It was made clear that Borderlands 2 would be receiving a sixth playable character class in the form of Krieg, the Psycho Bandit. Although we knew he was well on his way after the PAX East gameplay demo, actual release details were never shared… Until today!

Alongside the tweet, a badass picture was shown that paints Gaige, Krieg and the rest of the vault hunters in an awesome ‘Battle Ready’ position.

The most intriguing part of the picture, though, was without a doubt the release date. Krieg fans and Borderlands lovers can finally get their hands on Krieg, the Psycho Bandit on May 14th for the standardized price of $9.99 (or 800 Microsoft Points).

Krieg features everything you would expect from a new character class. Unique skill trees, an interesting personality – the works. Furthermore, new gameplay mechanics will change the way that players think with this high risk, high reward system that he utilizes. Unlike the other vault hunters, Krieg will not be able to regenerate health, having to rely on combat to stay alive. Team mates can also inflict damage on Krieg, decreasing his health but making him angry… and you will love him when he’s angry.

Krieg’s allure should definitely pull back a few players as well as satiate hardcore fans, at least until the release of ‘Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep’, available June 25th. (Which I am unfathomably excited about).
