We may not see The Elder Scrolls Online PS4/One until 2015
Following on from the recent delay of six months for The Elder Scrolls Online on the Xbox One and PS4, an interview with creative director Paul Sage on IGN has cast doubt over whether or not it will be released before the end of the year.
In the interview, Sage is quoted as saying “I will tell you we are working round the clock to try and make that happen,” but also added “I can’t guarantee anything, that would be foolish to do, but we are certainly working with that goal in mind.”
Sage has also stated that the upcoming addition of the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are cited as partly to blame for the delay, as the development team wants “…fully fleshed-out skill systems and quest lines…” before release.
Sage also reiterated that consumers have the option of beginning an Elder Scrolls Online character on the PC or Mac versions of the game, and then transferring these leveled and geared characters straight to the console versions when they release. Bethesda has also previously stated that the price of the console version of ESO will be subsidised considerably for gamers who have already bought the PC or Mac version.
Elder Scrolls Online is available now on PC and Mac.
