KontrolFreek Gaming Lights
When it comes to gaming at night, my wife and I are of two differing opinions. I prefer to play with the lights off, in total darkness (minus the light coming from the TV), while she prefers to have the room decently lit. For her, having the lights on in the room is for no other reason than to reduce the strain on her eyes when playing in the dark. Enter KontrolFreek, and their incredibly affordable Gaming Lights.
I’ve always assumed gaming lights for your TV or desk space were fairly expensive, and if you want to have the latest and greatest, which can be hooked up to your smart speakers and phone, and change to correspond to what you are playing or watching, it can get really expensive really quickly. But for a basic package, I found many affordable options, the best so far being those from KontrolFreek.
For only 24.99, players can get about 9 feet of gaming lights for their work space or TV area – if 9 feet isn’t enough, the ease of clicking multiple strands together will make adding a second or third package of lights to your setup a breeze. And that was what I liked the most about the lights. Getting them out of the package and hooked up was less than 5 minutes. Simply pull the adhesive off the back of the strand, determine where you want them to go, and stick’em on!

I was hoping that the lights would be a bit more flexible for when I wanted to go around corners on my TV, but at the end of the day, with a bit of pushing and pulling, I was able to make it work how I wanted. On my 50 inch TV, I was short just a few inches from making it all the way around the TV with one package, and while you can notice where the lights aren’t when
it’s all up and running, it doesn’t detract from the great look, in my opinion.
The lights come in various colours, with the option to change the brightness between 6 or 7 levels, which gives a ton of customization to the end user. Personally, we predominantly use the dark blue light, at the brightest setting. Any of hte dimmer settings, in my opinion, don’t give off the desired output. You can see the different colours in action below:

If you are looking for an inexpensive lights system for your gaming area, you cannot go wrong with KontrolFreek’s product. Although it lacks the options of higher end models – which again will cost you 100s of dollars! – it is a great, inexpensive alternative that provides a great final product!
