How Much was Hyrule Castle? Spencer Mansion?
Ever dreamed of living within a fantasy castle? How about a mysterious, dark mansion? If you’ve ever wanted to live in a location based upon one of your favourite games, property blog Movoto has worked out exactly what it might cost to find a similar property, and it might be more expensive than you’d think (or cheaper). On the bright side though, if you have a couple of million spare you’ll be able to to buy similar properties in some of the most beautiful locations in the world fell free to shop around and buy villas in North Cyprus. Just watch out for zombies.
Hyrule Castle would cost a staggering $113 million dollars if it was a real piece of property. This was worked out by finding a similar location, a place that had many of the local Hyrule landmarks, and the writer ended up with Tuscany circa 1400. As luck would have it, there’s actually a 1000 year old castle up for grabs in Tuscany (it’s stunning). The rest was just figuring out how much each square foot was worth and how big Hyrule Castle actually is.
Resident Evil’s Spencer Mansion was much cheaper, weighing in at just under the $2 million mark. That’s still not a price to sniff at, of course, and it doesn’t include whatever turning somebody into a zombie might cost, but it seems pretty fair for 28 rooms.
Movoto have done a number of these fantasy property valuing, and they’re all pretty great. Check them out here.
