Gilbert Gottfried Tweets Kingdom Hearts 3 Update
Gilbert Gottfried, foul-mouthed comedian with a voice like a chainsaw that’s not been well, might be best known to a certain generation as the voice of Iago the parrot in Disney’s Aladdin. He not only voiced the character in the original feature length cartoon, but in the TV series, sequels and video game adaptations as well, including Kingdom Hearts. In a tweet today, Gottfried managed let the genie out of the lamp by revealing that he’s currently doing voice work for the next Kingdom Hearts game.

This is a big surprise for fans, who were largely under the impression that the worlds were still up in the air (as that was the last thing we’d been told). That they’ve not only approached specific cast members, but that they’ve got them recording dialogue is a great sign of how development is going, and it’ll be more interesting than ever to hear what comes out of Kingdom Hearts at E3 this year. We’re expecting something big.
As of now, the tweet is still live and has been shared over 500 times. Something tells me Gottfried’s agent might be getting a nasty email at some point today. Agrabah has been in almost every Kingdom Hearts game in some way, and some fans had hoped that Square Enix were going to try something new. With that said, why lose the classics?
