FIFA 14 – New Teammate Intelligence
Ever been in that situation where one of your teammates doesn’t provide cover at the back? Or perhaps you’re two on one in front of goal and your teammate carelessly strays offside… Well FIFA 14 looks to rectify that with a new feature: ‘Teammate Intelligence.’
Your defenders will not only be more adept at marking opposition players, but they will now recognise the chance to offer support in all areas of the pitch as well.
But it’s not just about keeping it tight at the back. Your forwards will now be better at breaking the offside trap or instead making a checked run to gain a bit more space in the final third.
Strikers will also back into defenders to hold the ball up and wait for support; before laying the ball off to another player or taking a shot on goal themselves.
My first impressions are that the new ‘Teammate Intelligence’ will help players in both attack and defence. But it remains to be seen how your computer-controlled opponents also use these new features; which could make for a lot tougher game play.
