Batman: Arkham Knight first gameplay trailer released
“There is no Saviour. No more hope. No more BATMAN!”
And with that, the mysterious new character known only as Arkham Knight points his gun at Batman… and pulls the trigger.
Let’s back up a little, because the new trailer for Rocksteady’s latest Batman offering; Batman: Arkham Knight has a whole lot of the good stuff to drool over.
First off, we get a rather foreboding monologue from the Scarecrow (this game’s main antagonist), who promises the complete downfall of Gotham with the bone-chilling statement “Gotham falls. A city of fear rises!”
Great stuff.
Then of course there’s the gameplay. Now as brief as it is, it’s enough to make any Batman fan jump for joy.
We get to see the Bat-mobile in play here, with an assortment of cuts from it driving on the walls of an enormous pipe during a Riddler challenge, to driving down the dark streets of Gotham firing missiles at the scourge of the underworld.
There is also a brief look at Batman’s hand to hand combat that the series is now infamous for.
However, my favourite part was Batman’s super cool interlocking metallic armour, and if that isn’t next gen… I don’t know what is.
Anyway don’t let me spoil it all for you! Check out the trailer below.
Batman Arkham Knight has no release date as of yet and the trailer itself ends with a “coming soon” in favour of giving us an actual release date. Although you can bet your bottom dollar we can expect to hear more about this already amazing looking game at E3 only a few short weeks away.
Note: This trailer is the ‘next generation’ version.
