Next Batman Official: Arkham Origins Due October 2013
The front cover of May’s issue of Game Informer officially reveals the next game in the Batman Arkham series. Arkham Origins has been mentioned in rumours for well over a month now, and the rumours have turned out to be true. The game will take us to before Joker’s capture at the beginning of Arkham Asylum, to when Batman was first starting out his crime fighting adventure, and to the first super villains he put down.
It’s true that this next game won’t be made by Rocksteady, the mantle has instead been passed to Warner Bros. Montreal. The Game Informer story is quick to point out that they have full use of Rocksteady’s modified Unreal engine, so you can expect the look and feel of the previous titles to remain an important part of Arkham Origins.
You won’t have to wait long for Arkham Origins either. The game will release on October 25th 2013, alongside Origins Blackgate, a Metroid-esque 2.5d original title for the 3DS and Vita. Expect more information on Arkham Origins and on Origins Blackgate at E3 this year.
