Bioshock Remade in Unreal 4 Looks Awesome
Bioshock was quite a nice looking game when it was first released, but it hasn’t aged well on consoles. Even though it’s only seven years old, I’m positive there are people out there that wouldn’t mind seeing a bit of an update for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can add at least one more person to that list. The video below shows Bioshock as it would look in the Unreal 4 Engine. It convinced me, it might just convince you too.
The creator of the video above used original Bioshock assets in the Unreal 4 Engine and the difference is quite impressive. It’s not the best thing you’ll see in the latest Epic release, but considering these were all created for a game released way back in 2007, the potential there is mindblowing. The picture at the top of this article is from Bioshock 2, released in 2010, and it’s easy to see how the features of this new video make all the difference in things like water and shadow.
The comments on the video are rather mixed. Everybody’s excited for it, but some want a remake released on new-gen consoles and others don’t think they could handle it (and so, naturally, only a PC release should exist). I don’t care where I have to buy it personally, just make it look like that and I’ll be very, very interested.
