After All These Years, Harmonix Relives The Story of Rock Band
To celebrate years of DLC, and as a final farewell after the release of the final song for the platform, Harmonix have today released a video reliving some of the highs and lows of the very best plastic music franchise ever. And if that isn’t enough for you, there’s some pretty terrible singing as well!
It’s hard to believe that the main Rock Band franchise only really encompassed six games, and that two of those games were band-specific, but it’s true. While Activision ran Guitar Hero into the ground, Harmonix instead built up their reputation on quality (and a huge quantity of) DLC. While some are no doubt surprised the franchise lasted even this long, the company managed to build up a fantastic set of fans who continued to buy DLC right up until the end.
The videos pretty interesting, especially if you’ve been around since the beginning, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who’ll be plugging a USB mic into their console tonight, and blasting out a few old favourites.
