Three Satisfying Kills in Far Cry 5

Far Cry 5 launched today across the world, on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4; if you had the opportunity to read our review-in-progress, you’ll know that we absolutely love the game, and almost everything it contains! With a host of new features, and a new formula for game progression, Far Cry 5 is setting itself up to be the best in the franchise, and for good reason. Outside of the fascinating characters, there is plenty to enjoy here, especially those unique moments when you can get a very satisfying kill. Here are our top 3 that you should try!

Animal Kills

Fairly early into Far Cry 5, you’ll have the opportunity to set off and save three animals that you can then hire to walk by your side: Peaches the cougar, Boomer the dog, and perhaps the most notorious, Cheeseburger the grizzly bear. All three animals are not particuarliy hard to obtain – Boomer being perhaps the easiest and least involved – but all three make formidable allies when taken into combat.

When fighting cult members, the first time you see your animal companion run past you and literally bit the throat of one of your assailants is something you won’t soon forget. Sure, other games have given you animal side kicks, but not like this. Get those animals quickly. They will give you many jaw dropping kill moments.

Sniping a Helicopter Pilot

As you raise the resistance in each region of Far Cry 5, Joseph Seed and his siblings will send increasingly more difficult enemies your way, including helicopters. This can be especially annoying when you attempt to cross an open field, but there is a way to knock these things out even if you don’t have your own aircraft or rocket launch: a sniper rifle.

If you find yourself under heavy fire from enemies in the sky, find somewhere to duck down out of sight and get that sniper rifle ready. There is nothing more satisfying than a perfectly placed headshot that makes a helicopter veer out of control, crashing to the ground with a boom, and ultimately, flames via explosions. Drop one down in an open field and watch at fire spread! It’s a great way to take down cult members on the ground as well!

Tractor Tillers

Although I’ve never seen a tractor like the ones in Far Cry 5 – and I come from a farming community, I’m assuming the device on the front of some of them is a tiller. My first experience with this tractor was performing a task for a local cook who needed bull balls for the Falls End Testical Festival. I found out that not only is this tractor great for taking down bulls, but also works well on cult members, killing them instantly, regardless of their resistance to other weapons.

Watch out for flame throwing cult members though…I quickly learned that those turn into explosions very quickly.
