More Thoughts From Me #164: You Have Xbox Games On My Switch!

What is going on with Microsoft and Nintendo? First, we got Minecraft, then we crossplay with Xbox One, and now Cuphead is coming to the Nintendo Switch! Microsoft and Nintendo have a really unique relationship right now and one of things that is rumored for a future addition to that relationship is Xbox Game Pass on the Switch. Could such a thing happen?! I don’t know. I usually don’t even comment on rumors but I really want this one to happen. It probably won’t, but I thought I’d talk about ten Xbox related games that I’d love to see on the Switch!

I have never used Xbox Game Pass. I don’t have an Xbox One. So, while I know at least a few of the following are on Game Pass, I don’t know about all of them. If they are not on the service, please don’t tell me. Let me dream on.

Here are ten Xbox Games I’d like to see on the Nintendo Switch, through Game Pass or other means (like Cuphead):

10. Call of Duty: We’ll probably never get a regular Call of Duty game on the Switch. I have no idea why. Think about all the cash that’s being left on the table here! But I’m sure at least one of these games must be on Game Pass and so it would be cool to see this series make it over via this service!

9. Mass Effect: Mass Effect on the Switch?! Well, why not! If Mass Effect 3 come to the Wii U, then I don’t see why EA and Bioware are sitting on this franchise making its way to the Switch. Oh wait. Its EA. And Bioware. Thats going to be a common hiccup in this list. But Mass Effect via Game Pass would be incredibly cool. Oh EA and Bioware could release a Mass Effect trilogy on the eShop but I doubt it’ll happen that way.

8. Burnout Paradise: I love the earlier Burnout games like Takedown more but I’d be really happy if Burnout Paradise made its way to the Switch. Imagine playing this game in handheld mode! It would be a blast.

7. Jade Empire: Another Bioware game and another game thats unlikely to come to the system via the eshop or especially a physical verison. I don’t know if this game in on Game Pass but if it is, it would fun to play this game on the Switch! It may not be the best of the Bioware catolog, though I really enjoyed it.

6. Fable: I know the first Fable has its issues. It never lived up to what Molyneux said it would be. That said, if you put those issues aside, Fable could definitely run on the Switch and with all the open world games like Skyrim and Breath of the Wild on the system already, Fable would fit right in. I think it would be a blast to play in portable mode!

5. Sea of Thieves: I’ve never played this game because I don’t have an Xbox One, but the footage I’ve seen of it looks neat. People love open world games on the Switch and this one looks like it would be something else to play whether in handheld or on the TV. And you know it would sell more on the Switch or at least be one of the most played games on Game Pass!

4. The Orange Box: The least likely game on this list to come to the Switch! I know the Orange Box was also on the Playstation 3 and Steam. I have no idea if this is on Game Pass. It probably isn’t. This collection of games, especially Half-Life 2 and its episodes, are wonderful. Plus, can you imagine playing Portal on the Switch?! Yeah, it would be great. It won’t happen in a million years.

3. Halo: Would Microsoft put its console exclusive series on the Nintendo Switch?! Once upon a time, Microsoft and Nintendo almost made a Halo DS game. If thats possible, then a Game Pass service with Halo on it could be possible too. Though what if…Halo, at least the first one, came out via the eshop and a physical version?? People would go nuts!

2. Fallout 3: I want this game on the Switch! Bethesda brought Skyrim, Wolfenstein and Doom to the Switch. You’d think Fallout 3 would be a no brainer but so far we’ve only gotten…Fallout Shelter. That’s an ok game but its no Fallout 3. Xbox Game Pass has this game. Lets see Fallout 3 come to the Switch via Game Pass at least.

1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: I heard that this game was added to Game Pass recently. I love the first Knights of the Old Republic. Its the reason I bought the orignal Xbox in the first place. I had rented an Xbox and played Knights of the Old Republic. I even beat the game. But I still wanted to own the system and the game. I loved it so much. If Game Pass came to the Switch and this game was on it, I would play nothing else. If a physical verison came to the system (so unlikely), I would buy it so fast!

And thats my list of Xbox games I’d love to see on the Switch. I know not all of those games were Xbox exclusive. I think a couple of them might even be possible. Overall though, I think it’ll take Game Pass coming to the Switch to see most of them hit the system. The Orange Box will never happen. I just have to get use to it.

Halo on the Switch is my likely prediction. Thats why it’ll probably never happen.

For all we know, Microsoft and Nintendo will just stick to bringing over Xbox exclusive indie games (and smaller games) to the Switch and never bring any of the bigger Microsoft games to the system. It would be a shame if the Game Pass thing never happened.
