Bethesda: A “Butt-Tweet” or Something More?
In a perfect demonstration of internet sleuthing, forum-goers at Neogaf leapt into action deciphering a secret message from Bethesda – a message which turned out to be a “butt-tweet” from Pax.
The original tweet, which was posted to the @bethblog Twitter account, read: “or not 273513”
Desperate to find out what the tweet meant, people started discussing the possibilities. Was it the amount of seconds till the global launch of Fallout 4?
It turns out that the answer is probably less interesting. Seconds later the “mysterious” tweet was deleted and replaced with a quick explanation.
Ignore our random numbers – let’s call that a “butt tweet” from the PAX show floor. pic.twitter.com/v49LeRmWu8

It’s possible that it’s six numbers of a telephone number or some other inadvertently copy-pasted string of figures, but more likely it was just randomly input and then accidentally posted.
On the other hand, it could be something mroe. Nothing is ever hidden on the internet, and Bethesda might know the affect such a post would have, but we think you’d need to be pretty desperate for conspiracy if that’s the first conclusion you jump towards.
Bethesda will be appearing at E3 this year, hosting their own press conference for the first time. There’s been no information on what they’re going to announce.
