More Thoughts From Me #260: New Festivale Horizons?

Yesterday was Festivale in Animal Crossing New Horizons. This is a holiday where a bird named Pave comes to your island and just wants to dance and collect feathers. Dancing, feathers, and prizes make up the gist of Festivale. Was this holiday worth checking out? Here are my thoughts on Festivale for New Horizons! Spoiler Warning just in case…

Festivale in Animal Crossing New Horizons is an okay holiday.

I liked catching feathers and seeing the animals dancing. The rainbow feather recipe is neat. The ultimate reward you get, which I won’t spoil, is epic! However what happened in between getting the recipe and the ultimate reward (and after) was less than ideal.

Before you get that ultimate reward, Pave gives you…all the Festivale items that you probably bought from Nook’s Cranny already. If you are lucky, you’ll get a different color. You may get the exact same item, same color. You have to get all of the items again and then you’ll get the ultimate reward.

To get the items, you have to catch three feathers of any color and give them to Pave. Either that or one rainbow feather. You can also trade feathers with animals if you want. This isn’t too hard but it doesn’t feel very rewarding to get that same item again. And then you have to give him three rainbow feathers at once to get the final reward.

Oh and after that, he sticks around for the rest of the day. You can keep giving him feathers but he’ll only give you the same items again, hopefully in different colors. sigh.

Now don’t get me wrong: the Festivale items are great. All of the colors are pretty great too. I suppose if you want to get all the colors, this is easier than trying to convince your friends to give you their colors or using the rainbow feathers to customize the items. Though it could take awhile depending on the bird. Festivale is the way.

This holiday is nowhere near as fun as Halloween though. The rewards were great there, plus you had a lot of spooky fun.

Halloween and Toy Day are the two best New Horizons holidays so far.

The next holiday, unless Nintendo adds something new, is going to be Bunny Day. Oh no.
