Xenoblade Chronicles X gets new trailer
Nintendo’s first direct of 2015 showed off a lot of new beautiful things however none as fascinating as the new trailer for Xenoblade Chronices X. Simply titled “Exploration trailer” the game looks to capitalize and expand on the world of Xenoblade in many ways by mirroring the vast world that the player could explore for days. The trailer itself focused solely on the exploration aspects of Xenoblade Chronicles and not one battle was included in it. It was an interesting concept that really showcased the grand scale of XCX’s beauty without random battles and action sequences breaking it up.
I think my save file was somewhere around 119 hours in Xenoblade Chronicles and the trailer for XCX looks like I’ll be spending twice as long exploring every hidden cavern and material cache. I was truly immersed in the world that Monolith Soft created in XC. The trailer shows jungles, caverns, mechanical worlds overrun by nature and vice versa, ice fields and jumping off the tops mountains then swimming in lakes and rivers below. The whole while I was in awe as the game looks like it is everything I would ever want in a Xenoblade Chronicles successor and then some.
A new feature to the franchise is the use of mechs and vehicles which the player can use to traverse the ever spanning world. The vehicles and mechs are shown in full glory roaming the world and it looks like a really freeing JRPG experience and one I’ve always wanted to have. Flying through massive craters and under missing pieces of mountains looks incredible and it just may be one of the best games available on the Wii U in 2015. Although no date was given, 2015 was plastered on the trailer during the end which was revealed by means of a digital clock. That little bit of hope is enough for me as I was initially in low hopes that this game would actually see a 2015 release.
