Microsoft Gets Xbox One “Remote Play” in Windows 10
Microsoft have revealed some a variety of new information on Windows 10, and while they’ve promised it will be better for games, they’ve given little in the way of solid information as to why.
DirectX 12 is bound to add a variety of software-based optimization on both Xbox One and PC, and we’re sure those will turn out just great when it’s released alongside the OS later this year.
But the most obvious announcement of interest to gamers is that PCs will be capable of “Remote Playing” Xbox One games to any Windows 10 compatible device.
While that means big things for PC gamers who have been kicked off a main TV, it’s also good news for mobile users who want to get that extra use out of a Windows enabled tablet or mobile phone.
The new Xbox app for Windows 10 includes many of the same things as the current Xbox app, which seems to have been largely forgotten in today’s coverage.
You can use it to send messages, check out you avatar or browse your achievements, although the streaming option will be built into it as well.
This puts the ability to remote play into the hands of millions of Windows OS owners, and although they may be limited by connection speeds, it’s really a chance to take the feature mainstream.
