Diablo 3 Coming to Xbox One?

Diablo 3 recently made the jump to PlayStation 3 and will soon be available on PlayStation 4 as well. Xbox One users have, so far, gone completely without, but that hasn’t stopped them getting their hopes up after a couple of retailers have listed a re-release for Microsoft’s latest machine. Could it be that Sony only paid for timed exclusivity and that Xbox One owners will get Diablo 3 in time as well?

The retailer’s listing doesn’t seem to be a random screw-up either, and if it is, it’s a big coincidence. Best Buy Canada had listed Diablo 3 Xbox One and have since removed it. Argos Online, a completely unrelated company operating in a different country altogether, now have it up for pre-order (at the low, low price of £62.99, we might add).

Now of course, this doesn’t prove anything. It’s perfectly possible that two completely separated companies could make the same mistake in a relatively short period of time. Perhaps there’s been some worldwide updates made to other platforms, causing both to edit their databases within the same period. Perhaps the included images – which shows Diablo 3 with an Xbox One logo above it – are automatically made based on platform?

Blizzard have commented on the “slip-up,” although have done little but fan the flames.

One of our goals is to bring Diablo 3 to as many players as possible, but we don’t have any other platform announcements to share at this time.
