Confusion continues over Watch Dogs Wii U

Last week GamesReviews’ own Mat Growcott wrote a story about the cancellation of Watch Dogs on the Wii U based on preorder cancellations from GameStop in Italy.  This week, Nintendo announced their 2014 launch schedule and Watch Dogs is not on the list.  For many, this may be as close to a confirmation that Watch Dogs will in fact not appear on Wii U.  However, Nintendo and Ubisoft have yet to make an official announcement on the ongoing rumors.

I felt Watch Dogs was doomed on Wii U until a recent Nintendo of America tweet telling followers to check out an IGN articles about upcoming 2014 Wii U titles.  Watch Dogs does appear in the IGN article.  Both bits of news, that is the Wii U launch schedule and the IGN list of most anticipated games, come around the same time.  It will be interesting to see what comes of the rumors surrounding Watch Dogs.

Gamespot and Kotaku updated their own stories on the cancellation saying GameStop in the United States and Italy cited a computer error for the disappearance of a preorder option.  I contacted my local EBGames (A GameStop company) in Ontario, Canada and they have yet to cancel any Wii U preorders of the game.
