A Wanna-be Tourist Checks Out The Touryst Demo
I’ve had my eye on The Touryst game ever since it was revealed. I thought the graphics looked neat and the gameplay looked interesting. However I hadn’t had the chance to check it out. Then today, a demo of the game was released for the Nintendo Switch! Here are my impressions of The Touryst demo.
Have you ever wanted to go to a tropical island but Nintendo delayed Animal Crossing New Horizons so you had to wait? Then you may want to give The Touryst a look.
A demo of The Touryst was released for Nintendo Switch today. Actually it doesn’t have much in common with Animal Crossing, other than the tropical setting but the demo is pretty neat.
The graphics are blocky, sort of Minecraft like. I actually like the graphics better than Minecraft though. The environments are more detailed and interesting than Minecraft. You can tell that a lot of care was put into this game.
And then there’s the gameplay. While The Touryst demo is pretty short, it lets you explore the island, collect some stuff, and learn how to free climb and explore a tomb. I especially like exploring the island. Its a very small area but it has houses to visit, some people to talk to, and a store to buy a couple of things from. And how you get into the tomb and the inside of it is pretty awesome. Oh and you can swim around the island too. Just don’t swim out too far though. Seriously, don’t do it! What an interesting game.
From the trailer I’ve seen of the game, the demo is only just a small bit of what The Touryst has to offer. Its a pretty cool bit though. I really want to go play the full game now.
Have you played The Touryst? What do you think of it? The demo is available now on the eshop!
