OnePlus 13 Review – The Specs

Although it’s been out for a little while now, OnePlus gave us the opportunity to review their latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 13. Over the course of several articles, we will begin dissecting the various aspects of the phone, the things we liked and didn’t like, all in the view of video gaming on the go. Before we get into the various aspects of the phone – screen, battery, cameras, etc. – let’s take a look at the various specifications of this phone, and where it lands in the dollar-for-value category compared to other companies!

In Canada, the OnePlus 13 is going to run you about $1,250 which is just a bit higher than Google’s latest flagship phone, but still less than what Samsung will charge you for the latest and greatest in the Android marketplace. The most basic information on this new phone – and the information that most consumers are defaulting to and caring about – is this: 512 GB of storage, a nice 6.82-inch QHD OLED display, supporting Android 15, and coming in White/Silver, Blue and Black (our model).

For most consumers, this is all they really need to know before they ask the next three most important questions: how is it for watching movies and/or playing games?; how long does the battery last?; and how good is the camera for photos and video? We will get into all of that in separate short articles soon, but let’s continue on with what’s under the hood here. Tech nerds, it’s time to get excited (although not too excited, that’s not what we do here – check out TomsGuide.com if you REALLY want to nerd out)!

The OnePlus 13 is sporting a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset which is more than enough to provide a solid performance no matter what task you are undertaking. In fact, based on our limited knowledge of things – although our opinions corroborated by many in the industry – the OnePlus 13 does outshine its Android comparisons quite extensively. We have had the chance to look at flagship phones from Google and Samsung this year, and honestly, we still believe the average person, that average joe on the sidewalk, isn’t going to notice the difference, or frankly, care. What they may care about, however, is better performance at a better price. Everyone wants a better price, right?

Really quickly to round out this introduction to our swatch of OnePlus 13 articles is a few other quick tidbits about the phone. The phone boasts 80/100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The 6000 mAh battery will keep you going for an entire day without concern. The rear cameras are a 50MP main camera, with a  50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP 3 times telephoto lens. The front cameras are, as expected, a bit less impressive, sporting a 32MP selfie camera.

We have so much more coming about the OnePlus 13 so stay tuned for articles around gaming, photo taking, and so much more!
