2021 needs to define the coming generation – because 2020 certainly didn’t
2020 was a lot of things to a lot of people, but it also had the distinct displeasure of being the year the new consoles were released. Somehow, the Xbox Series X and PS5 were still released, and the only real downside seems to be keeping stock levels high enough so people can pay for them. In hindsight, that’s about the best anybody could have predicted, and it’s fully down to the geniuses at Sony and Microsoft for making that…

Astro A20 Generation 2 Review
New consoles means new headsets, and while there are a surprising number of recently released headsets that don't work on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, we are happy to report that the Astro A20 Generation 2 set is not one of them. After a few weeks trying and testing the product, our impressions are pretty strong.
Xbox Series X – One Dislike, Three Likes – featuring Seagate
Just ahead of the holidays, Xbox Canada sent over the Xbox Series X for us to use to review their hottest games in 2021, and there are going to be a few bangers for sure. Over the last few weeks, however, I've been playing Xbox Series X enhanced versions of some of my favourite games, and for the most part, I've been incredibly impressed. Here are three likes, and one dislike about the Xbox Series X!
More Thoughts From Me #252: Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! This time I share my thoughts about this year in video games and just how lucky video game fans were compared to, oh say movie fans or tv show fans. Time to reflect and hug your video games or you know, thank a video game developer. Well, we made it to the holidays. Its been a bad year. I think most of us can agree that 2020 sucked and we never want to see it again.…
Five franchises which NEED a Soulsborne Game
If there’s one thing the Soulsborne games have been missing all these years, it’s hoards of Wookies. Or childlike Hobbits you can set fire to. Or White Walkers. It turns out that the Soulsborne formula is pretty adaptable, especially within the fantasy genre. And, having just finished Jedi: Fallen Order, it’s something I’d like to see adapted even more. Demon’s Souls gave me a new appreciation for the genre, and for the difficulty and perseverance that came with it. Now…
CD Projekt Red Offering Refunds for Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One and PS4
If you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, the folks at CD Projekt Red are working on getting you refunds through various means. While the game seems to run OK on PC and Google Stadia - where our own Will Pennell will be reviewing - and runs OK on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, the game is a disaster on last generation consoles, specifically the original consoles from 2013.
More Thoughts From Me Special Edition: Disney Vs. The Game Awards
Hey, you know that Wild Game Awards predictions article I did? Turns out it was pretty wild. Not a single thing right! Also…um…I only sort of watched The Game Awards! I saw some of it. Let me explain… Last night The Game Awards aired. Also, Disney announced a ton of stuff. I mean they announced new Star Wars shows/movies, new Marvel shows/movies, new Pixar stuff, new Disney stuff. They showed trailers even! It was crazy. And they were live streaming…
After a Bad Year for Gaming Events, The Game Awards Delivered
Blame coronavirus, undue hype or whatever – this year hasn’t been good for gaming events. There’s been plenty to be excited about, but very little that tipped into real surprise territory. Completely expected sequels, promises upon promises and not much else. That’s 2020 in a nutshell. So imagine my surprise when, just a few weeks before this awful year is finally over, a gaming event actually delivers. The stops were pulled out. Not everybody is thrilled. They were expecting Elden…
