GBA Re-releases Launch on the Wrong Platform

Even after what most are calling an excellent showing at E3 for Nintendo, the obvious sales issues are still at the top of everyone's news list, at least when it comes to Wii U. Nintendo has done everything within their power to change how the public views the Wii U, but have had limited success. Even after showing off tons of new games, people are wondering why games are not coming out sooner.

Link is Staying Male, For Now

There's been a lot of talk about the "new" Link in the Legend of Zelda Wii U trailer shown at the Nintendo E3 Digital event earlier this week. The character has always looked feminine, but this time around it was enough to seriously question his gender, and people did. This wasn't helped when Eiji Aonuma was asked why Link looked so different: “No one explicitly said that that was Link.”

“Twitch isn’t Fun,” says Nintendo

If you were hoping to perhaps have the ability to stream some of your favorite Wii U games on Twitch straight form the console, think again. Nintendo has partnered heavily with Twitch for E3 this year, having them be the official broadcaster of all their events, including the Smash Brothers Invitational.

Wii U Bayonetta Games Will Have Touch Controls

Both Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 have been confirmed to be playable with touch controls via the gamepad when they launch on Wii U later this year. During the live stream of the e3 Nintendo Treehouse event, Mr. Hashimoto and Ms. Kuroda from Platinum Games showcased the ability to seamlessly switch between standard and touch controls by simply touching enemies or directions on the gamepad. Various techniques are used, such as swiping across the screen, tapping, and circular motions that all bring a new unique control over Bayonetta.

Bayonetta 2 Comes with the First Game Free

Subtly isn't Bayonetta's strong point, although one of the main announcements of Nintendo's E3 presentation involved her and has largely gone unnoticed in the conversations about The Legend of Zelda Wii U and Yoshi's Wooly World. When you buy Bayonetta 2 on Wii U, the first game (originally published by SEGA) will be included at no extra cost.

The characters of Xenoblade Chronicles X become locked in an intergalactic war, and the game focuses on their struggle as they are forced to fight for their future against an invading alien race. The trailer showcases these survivors in a heated battle of mechs and gunships.

Toad Getting Love in Captain Toad

Remember those silly mini Toad levels that were scattered throughout Super Mario World 3D on the Wii U. For myself, I always thought they were fun to play, although perhaps to simple. Well, now Toad is getting his own game based on these levels, and it is called Captain Toad.

More information released on Legend of Zelda Wii U

We knew there was going to be a new Legend of Zelda on its way for Wii U - Nintendo had confirmed it even if you didn't like to presume - and after today's Nintendo Direct... we know there's a new Legend of Zelda on its way for Wii U. While the developers didn't go as far as to reveal anything tangible about the next game in the Zelda series (not even a name), they did hint at what might come: giant spider death robots.

More Details Released on Hyrule Warriors

Hyrule Warriors is a title that we know surprisingly little about, especially considering it'll be available to purchase within the next three months or so. With that said, Dynasty Warriors is a franchise that needs no introduction, and it's only really the Hyrule-specific details that we need to know about. The gameplay itself is obvious, how it's all set up and why characters as broad as Midna and Impa will be taking part in battle is less opaque.

New Characters Announced for Smash Bros: Miis and Lady Palutena

Although it does not come as much of a surprise, Nintendo announced today that Miis are coming to Super Smash Bros. However, what was surprising is the level of customization available, and that Miis will be competitive when going head to head with some of Nintendo's finest!
