Puppeteer Demo on its Way
Sony exclusive Puppeteer will soon be getting a demo. The game, which was formally announced last year, is a platformer of sorts that has you using a magical pair of scissors to attack enemies and alter the world. It's one of those games that sounds really strange until you try it, and that opportunity is on its way.
Metal Gear Online V Will Have Multiplayer Mode
Although Kojima officially revealed that Kojima Productions LA were working on a new Metal Gear Online, little else has been said about how multiplayer will fit into Metal Gear Solid V. That's still true, very little has been said. Still, it has been reconfirmed on the Kojima Productions Alert 4 podcast, and it's been said that it'll work in a very interesting way.
PS+ Content For July (And August?)
Sony have announced the content that will be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers in July. It's a great mix of some top games, things that are definitely going to help you prepare for a few big upcoming titles. Although you'll need to enjoy shooters to really get the most out of this month, the inclusion of Battlefield 3, Payday: The Heist and Saints Row the Third is sure to be enough to justify this month's pay. That's an awful lot for an awful little.
The Last of Us Rocks its First Weekend
The Last of Us has had a great first weekend, proving beyond a doubt that Sony's latest has at least hit home with its biggest fans. Although no specific sales data has been released, it did make it to the top of the all-format charts (knocking GRID 2 from its high point) and is thought to be the highest grossing new IP since L.A. Noire, which released in 2011. It's also the first Sony published game to reach the top spot since Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD may Pave Way to Further FF HD Re-Releases
A lot of people are excited for the chance to play both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 again. Originally released in 2001, every single Final Fantasy game since has split the community more and more, so this is a fresh opportunity to see a fan favourite in a new, fresh way. If you're excited, be sure to support the developers, as it may lead to similar opportunities in the future...
9 New GTA5 Screenshots
Rockstar may not have been on stage at E3 but they still made sure to leave their mark. During the announcement of the custom GTAV-branded Pulse Elite Headset for PS3 a slideshow of images could be seen over Jack Tretton's shoulder. Thankfully Rockstar were thoughtful enough to officially release the images a couple days later on their site.
PlayStation Battle Royale Sold Over a Million Units, No New DLC
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale sold over a million units, Shuhei Yoshida has revealed. Across two platforms, the Sony-focussed brawler included many fan favourites from the last two decades of PlayStation, although a few key heroes were missing and this affected initial reaction. This, paired with a general lack of marketing, caused the game to do only moderately well at retail, but also the hiring of a new marketing team and the dismissal of Superbot, the developer behind Battle Royale.
Dragon Age: Inquisition Unveiled
Bioware have made no secret of the fact that they've been working on a new Dragon Age game, and the reason for that was tonight revealed. Dragon Age: Inquisition hits all the buzzword tick boxes that a decent RPG should: it's open world, it gives you an awesome amount of power over the story and you'll interact with deep characters (both old and new, we're told). Although the Lord of the Rings vibe is still immense, Inquisition is a title that any Bioware fan will be excited for.
Scorpion enters Kombat in Injustice: Gods Among Us
Warner Brothers have announced that the next piece of DLC for superhero brawler will be the iconic Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. Bragging a new design by Jim Lee at DC entertainment, this isn't the first time a Mortal Kombat character has taken on the likes of Batman and Superman, but it might just be the deadliest.
UK E3 Alternative EToo Announced, Sponsored by PlayStation
Making it to E3 is hard enough, even if you live in the US. For those of us in Europe (and further afield) it’s a vague impossibility, a mess of cost and inconvenience that far outweighs the visit’s usefulness. That’s why EToo sounds such a good idea. Sponsored by PlayStation and with over 30 developers present, from June 10th to 13th, the Loading Bar in Soho will be filled with some of the biggest indie games out there, as well…
