The Magnificent Trufflepigs

Steam’s Refund Policy Needs Another Look
In a world of difficult customer support processes, jargon-filled FAQs and oblique policies, Steam feels like a breath of fresh air. If you’ve played a game for less than two hours within 14 days of purchase, you get your refund. You literally can’t say fairer than that – unless you’re an indie developer. Because the system is absolutely ripe for abuse if your game is less than two hours long, and customers are frequently taking advantage. Play the game, leave…
LEGO Bowser’s Airship Expansion Set
I'm not shy about stating my early opinions of LEGO Super Mario - the entire concept looked really uninteresting, and I saw this being one of LEGO's very rare flops. I didn't want a chunky Mario who played sounds and collected coins. I wanted regular sized Mario minifigures, with other characters like Bowser or the Kooplings built on the same minifig base as Hagrid from Harry Potter or the Hulk from the Avengers. Then I watched my kids play, and I knew I was so very wrong. The latest addition to our LEGO Super Mario collection, Bowser's Airship, is the best set in the entire series! Let's dig in.

Sony’s Horizon Delay Doesn’t Matter this Christmas
2021 isn’t going to be a good holiday season for Sony now that Horizon 2 has been delayed. With blockbusters looking few and far between, a lot of the talk about “the power of exclusives” has aged like milk. This year the viability of the PlayStation 5 will hinge on third-party exclusives and older games, such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales. If you want to play Battlefield or Call of Duty, you can do it here. Albeit, probably at a slightly…

Saints Row is getting a reboot, coming in Feb 2022
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Saints Row game. While Saints Row 4 and Gat out of Hell didn’t impress me much, Saints Row the Third is one of my favorite games of all time and I loved being able to go back to it with the recent remasters. They also did the spin-off Agents of Mayhem which was also a lot of fun but didn’t quite find its audience and the narrative was a little weak…
