Today, the Left 4 Dead 2 beta program has introduced the ‘Extended Mutation System’ which will allow modders to author and test out expanded tools before they’re rolled out onto the live servers. Modders will be able to create unique, custom experiences that can be played on either newly created or already existing maps. Far Cry 3 Has Shipped Over 4.5 Million Copies
It’s a pretty obvious statement that people enjoyed Ubisoft’s latest entry in the Far Cry series but now we know just how much they enjoyed it. Ubisoft has revealed that Far Cry 3 shipped a staggering 4.5 million copies, surpassing even their high expectations.
First Footage of Wasteland 2
When inXile Entertainment put up a drive for a Wasteland 2 on Kickstarter, no one could have foreseen the studio reaching its goal in just two days. By the time the pledging period ended, inXile had $3,040,574 in its hand. The original goal being a relatively low $900,000, all the extra money meant inXile could add in even more features. Once inXile hit $2.1 million, it meant that the studio could afford to have Obsidian Entertainment help out. Once the $3 million was reached, inXile would be able to include mod tools.
World of Warcraft Subscriber Numbers Continue To Plummet
Blizzard Activision released the investor’s report for the fourth quarter of 2012 today and according to the report, things aren’t looking so hot for World of Warcraft’s subscriber numbers. According to the report, total subscriber numbers for World of Warcraft had sunk to 9.6 million by the end of December, 2012. While it isn’t the lowest point to which subscriber numbers have fallen (the number of subscribers during the tail end of Cataclysm was reported to be 9.1 million), it’s still quite a dip considering there were over 10 million during the launch of World of Warcraft’s newest expansion Mists of Pandaria.
Sony To Possibly Unveil PlayStation 4 This Month
Rumors regarding Sony’s unveiling of their next-gen system (which many have cleverly dubbed the “PlayStation 4”) have been swirling for months now. But if the latest gossip is to be believed, all the months of waiting might finally be over.
TERA Free to Play
From February 5th onwards, TERA will adopt a free-to-play model. According to En Masse Entertainment, publisher of TERA, the MMORPG will walk the “freemium” route. SuperBot and Sony Have Parted Ways
SuperBot Entertainment, the studio behind PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, and Sony have officially separated, ending what could have been a nice marriage. A Sony rep confirmed that “the working agreement with developer SuperBot Entertainment has amicably ended.”
