PS4 and Xbox One launch lacking 3rd party Japanese games
Japanese developers are usually at the forefront of any console launch. However, the upcoming launch of PS4 and Xbox One will have zero games coming from any Eastern developer.
Dead Island: Epidemic Announced
Deep Silver have announced Dead Island: Epidemic, a Zombie-based MOBA set in the Dead Island universe. Although little has been announced about this new entry in the franchise (there hasn't even been any screenshots), more details have been promised at Gamescom from the 21st of this month, so watch out for that.
Guacamelee! Gold Edition Hits Steam Today
Guacamelee! Gold Edition has today been released to the Steam platform. The Mexican-inspired platformer went down a treat on the PlayStation Network, getting pretty amazing reviews wherever it was covered. It's nice to see that it's going to be able to reach a whole new audience on PC.
Rebellion Announce Evil Genius Online
Rebellion have today announced that they'll be making a brand new entry in the Evil Genius franchise. I say franchise, although I'm not sure that''s really an accurate description for one very, very strong strategy/world domination sim that is vastly underrated and constantly cheap.
PS4 recording not exclusive to PS+ members
Ever since Microsoft confirmed a Gold Xbox Live membership was required to avail of the Xbox One's built-in DVR, Sony fans have been worried the same will apply to PS4 and that they'll need a PS+ subscription to make use of the PS4's game recording abilities.
Final Fantasy X HD Has 60 Rearranged Tracks, New Menus
Some new information has been released about the upcoming re-release of Final Fantasy X for PS3. If you'd wanted to know why it's taken so long for "just" a remaster to get onto our consoles, this might have something to do with it.
Triforce Fetch Quest “Rebalanced” in Wind Waker HD
Although Nintendo had previously confirmed that changes were being made to Wind Waker HD, due for release later this year, there were some people that were still a little cloudy on exact what it was they were talking about. For those of us who played it back in the day, it was pretty obvious what needed to be changed, and in today's Nintendo Direct, they confirmed, without any room for ifs and buts, that the final part of Wind Waker has been "rebalanced" for Wind Waker HD.
New Link for A Link Between Worlds
The upcoming 3DS title A Link Between Worlds may be set in the same world as A Link to the Past, but it's not set in the same time period. In today's Nintendo Direct, Iwata revealed that a lot of time has past between A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds, and that the Link we've seen in the videos so far isn't the same link from the 1991 Legend of Zelda SNES classic.
Professor Layton Vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Coming 2014
Professor Layton Vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was one of the games that convinced me a 3DS was worth buying. It was originally announced in 2010 and was released in Japan at the end of last year. It didn't look like it was ever going to see a Western Release. As a last minute surprise in today's Nintendo Direct, however, it was revealed that Professor Layton, Luke, Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey will be coming to western 3DS consoles early next year.
Saints Row IV Demo now available
Volition have released a demo of the upcoming Saints Row IV to the PS Store. Well, saying it’s a demo is a bit ambitious. The short, yet oddly large (roughly 1400MB) demo gives players a chance to create their character in anticipation of the game’s full release in two weeks. Create wild and wacky characters using the robust creation options. Fiddle around with settings such as gender, race, skin color, height, weight and even their sex appeal with a slider…
