Atari Teases Rollercoaster Tycoon 4

There aren't many games that let you build up amazing rollercoaster rides that end with the track suddenly dropping out and the death of thousands of your guests. That's what makes Rollercoaster Tycoon such an important franchise. Because if you don't terrorize innocent avatars, who on earth will? It's been a while since the last outing was released - almost 10 years - so fans may be happy to learn that Atari are teasing a new entry in the series.

South Park: The Stick of Truth Trumps All in UK Charts

South Park: The Stick of Truth has done exactly what it deserved and has jumped to the top spot in the UK charts. Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman have leapt straight to first place, proving that a licencing attempt need not be a waste of money, and that constant delays are little in the face of a decent game. Of course, being a recognisable March release probably went a long way towards helping as well.

PlayStation Now Prices Revealed?

A leaked image from the official Gaikai website might hint at the future pricing on the PlayStation Now service, although there's nothing certain about it, so read with a grain of salt. The rather blurry looking picture gives up the probably temporary rental prices of Uncharted 3 and Far Cry 3, although without more information it's difficult to guess exactly what you'll get for those prices.

The Last of Us Movie in the Works

Sony and Naughty Dog have today announced that they'll be bringing The Last of Us to cinemas. No information about the actual adaptation has been released, although fans will be happy to know Naughty Dog are keeping hold of the reigns to make sure things don't end up completely sucking. Screen Gems (Resident Evil, Underworld) has been brought on as distributor, while Neil Druckmann, creative director on the game, will be writing the script. Naughty Dog co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra will act as "creative architects."

New LEGO The Hobbit Trailer Released

While the Lord of the Rings franchise focussed on a small group of people changing the world in a big way, The Hobbit was more about the group (at least up to a point). This isn't something that's been lost on the team behind LEGO The Hobbit either, as they've added new ways for you to work together with your "buddies." Warner Brothers today released a new trailer showcasing these new abilities, and the importance of your group.

Batman: Arkham Knight Announced

Warner Brothers yesterday officially announced Batman: Arkham Knight for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The next-gen only detective game will be a sequel to Arkham City, and will be the last game in the series. Arkham Knight will take place in Gotham City proper this time around, and you'll have access to the Batmobile to help you move from place to place. You'll be able to get into the Batsuit once again this year.

Watch Dogs Release Date Revealed

Watch Dogs was delayed at the end of last year, rather unceremoniously confusing the next-gen launch for countless people that had pre-ordered bundles. The game that many thought would define next-gen was knocked back without a specific release date to expect it, and since then we've been waiting for more news.

N64 HDMI Converter Coming Soon

The N64 is a nice piece of kit, with a library of games that make it well worth keeping on the shelf. Still, there's one thing that isn't all that cool about it. If you want to play it, you need to keep around an older TV, or use a converter from eBay. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to play Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on the flatscreen, without using an emulator?

The Mass Effect Trilogy Could Come to Next-Gen

There are a sizeable group of people who are hoping to one day play the game they loved last-gen in an improved, HD Remaster-Plus style on either the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4. It happened with Tomb Raider, it almost happened with Skyrim, and now it might just happen with the Mass Effect Trilogy.

Nintendo Hitting Hard in 2014

The Wii U has not been the success that Nintendo hoped it would be. The reasons for this have been debated, ranging from consumers getting tired with older Nintendo franchises to people wondering if the product was branded poorly. My personal response to these two claims: no, people are not tired of old Nintendo franchises; and yes, the Wii U has suffered from poor branding. However, I would argue that Nintendo does deserve your hard earned dollars in 2014.
