N64 HDMI Converter Coming Soon

The N64 is a nice piece of kit, with a library of games that make it well worth keeping on the shelf. Still, there's one thing that isn't all that cool about it. If you want to play it, you need to keep around an older TV, or use a converter from eBay. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to play Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on the flatscreen, without using an emulator?

The Mass Effect Trilogy Could Come to Next-Gen

There are a sizeable group of people who are hoping to one day play the game they loved last-gen in an improved, HD Remaster-Plus style on either the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4. It happened with Tomb Raider, it almost happened with Skyrim, and now it might just happen with the Mass Effect Trilogy.

Nintendo Hitting Hard in 2014

The Wii U has not been the success that Nintendo hoped it would be. The reasons for this have been debated, ranging from consumers getting tired with older Nintendo franchises to people wondering if the product was branded poorly. My personal response to these two claims: no, people are not tired of old Nintendo franchises; and yes, the Wii U has suffered from poor branding. However, I would argue that Nintendo does deserve your hard earned dollars in 2014.

Dragon Age Inquisition – Is it another big game disaster of 2014?

Bioware's next entry in the Dragon Age series is on its way and skeptics are waiting with baited breath to see what happens. Is this going to be a miss for the Bioware boys, moving along with the disappointing Dragon Age II or will it be a homerun smash returning to the glory of Dragon Age Origins? Only time will tell.

Titanfall Won’t Have a Season Pass

If you've played an AAA game in the last twelve months, there's a good chance you've come across the concept of the 'Season Pass'. This gives you an entire collection of DLC at a reduced price, usually the cost of one DLC pack. It started, among other places, with Call of Duty, and Infinity Ward alumni Respawn were expected to continue the trend. They won't be - Titanfall will not have a season pass.

Nintendo Shutting Down Wii, DS Online Features

The new generation is definitely here now, and for Nintendo it's been almost 18 months since they released their latest device, the Wii U (and even longer since the 3DS came out). Perhaps it's no surprise then that the house of Mario is shutting down their online services from last-gen. With almost no expections, the Wii and DS are now offline consoles.

Xbox 360 The Time to Buy is Now!

While the allure of the new systems will entice a lot of people, take a step back and ask yourself: is it really worth it? I have played PS4 and the graphics capability of that system are outstanding. I've also had the privilege of playing the Xbox One, and the innovation that is on display in that system is definitely a sign of good things to come. But is buying any one of these systems truly worth it, especially right now?

Sony Santa Monica “Space” Game Cancelled

Last year, there was discussion of a sci-fi title in development at God of War developer Sony Santa Monica. It had been in development for quite a while, and even managed to get a mention in God of War: Ascension (in the guise of the above picture). Following news that Sony have laid off around fifty people from the studio, it's also been revealed that that game and the entire IP surrounding it has been cancelled.

After quite a lot of rumours, and a leaked PS+ list for next month, it seems much of it has been confirmed. Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition has been announced for PlayStation 4 over on the Asian PlayStation Blog, along with the reveal that it'll be free on PlayStation plus. No more information is given, but I imagine we'll be finding out the specifics over the next few days.

Activision have today announced that Call of Duty Elite - the season pass/play monitoring software that was launched in the run up to Modern Warfare 3 and then mostly ignored when Black Ops 2 was released - will be shutting down this week. Anybody who has logged into the servers since January this year will receive double XP.
