Michonne, Telltale, and the Walking Dead
If you have never had the pleasure of playing a Walking Dead game, and you have some interest in the television series, than you really need to get your hands on everything Telltale has published. While they are known for producing story centered games, the truth is that the Walking Dead series - Season 1, Season 2, and this latest miniseries looking at Michonne - are the best of their work. We recently got a code for the 1st episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne, and we really liked it!
The Joys of LEGO and Video Games
Last week, Warner Bros. PR in Toronto reached out and let me know they had a number of Ninjago, LEGO Dimensions fun packs and character packs to send my way. They arrived yesterday, and my six year old son Logan lost his mind. Not only is Logan a big Ninjago fan, but he is also a big LEGO Dimensions fan. His excitement made me realize something: all of these toys-to-life games do a great job of mixing toys and video games, but none of them - Skylanders or Disney Infinity - can do it like LEGO.
Nintendo of Canada Zelda Contest
Big releases from Nintendo are often coupled with great contests. Not only are the submissions great - and they really are, whether it's art, cosplay, or something else - but the prices are superb! Nintendo of Canada is currently running a contest in celebration of the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, which hits retail on March 4th, and Hyrule Legends on the 3DS later this month.
Return to PopoloCrois: A STORY OF SEASONS Fairytale Launches Today
North American 3DS owners be alert! The Return to PopoloCrois: A STORY OF SEASONS Fairytale launches today in North America. I have already played it for a few hours, and things are looking pretty good. Here are a few of the things I've noted early on.
@OMGitsJezy reviews the Y300X for Xbox One
It wouldn't be a complete week of news and reviews without another video from our good friend, @OMGitsJezy. Earlier this week, Jezy took a look at the Thrustmaster Y300X headset for Xbox One. For the most part, Jezy was impressed with this headset, although he wasn't crazy about the slightly heavier weight. Regardless, check out his review below.
New Nintendo Selects Arrive March 11th for 29.99
Nintendo has extended it's Nintendo Selects program to include Wii U and 3DS titles, and they will begin hitting stores and the eShop on March 11th. If you are in the market for any of these titles, your best bet is to wait a few weeks. Nintendo is not known for discounting their titles, and don't expect to find any of there big sellers - Smash Bros, Mario Kart, etc. - on this list anytime soon, if ever. However, for the time being, those that haven't played these fantastic titles will now be able to, at a much lower price.
Wondershot a great Social Title on Xbox One
Social games have been coming to consoles more frequently on the last few months, and Wondershot from French developer Leikir Studio continues that trend. The game walks the fine line between being great for kids and borderline enjoyable for adults. My time with the game and its few characters and modes was pretty short, but it has been the go-to for my son over the last few days. Overall, Wondershot is an adequate release on Xbox One and Steam, and one that you should at least get your moneys worth on.
Pokemon Nintendo Direct (2/26)
Nintendo had a Pokemon Nintendo Direct today! What did they reveal? Read on to find out! Today’s Pokemon Nintendo Direct revealed the information that was leaked yesterday: Pokemon Moon and Pokemon Sun are the two new Pokemon titles. They will be coming to the 3DS this year. There is no exact release date for the games yet. There was no footage of the games shown during the Direct. If you are interested in what was shown, here is the Direct:…
New Trademarks Point to Pokemon Moon / Sun
New trademarks for two new Pokemon games have surfaced which probably ruins the purpose behind tomorrow's Nintendo Direct. While there was no console specification on the trademarks, we are left to assume it is another 3DS "Gotta Catch 'em All" iteration. I'm game, are you?
LEGO Games can Draw Families Together
If you don't own a Nintendo system - and the if you don't and have a family, you should! - there are not a lot of titles that appeal to families. They are either to violent and graphic, or they are limited in what can be done locally. LEGO games continue to push against the current generation norm. Would it be hard for Travelers Tales to dump local multiplayer in favour of online multiplayer? Of course, but they haven't, and that means a lot to my family.
