Keep Your Eyes Peeled! The Most Anticipated Games This Year

Hardcore gamers probably won’t need to read this article. That is because you’ve probably been reading magazines and checking websites that mention these titles for months. However, most hobby gamers struggle to remain at the cutting-edge because of other commitments.

Fan Made SNES Yooka-Laylee Footage Surfaces

Playtonic Games has always been big on fan created content, and have been retweeting a lot of fan submissions they have received. If what the fans are producing is any indication, Yooka-Laylee is one of the most watched and anticipated titles of 2017. Super fan @DvonLaser (on Twitter) posted this video (seen below) of his working 2D Yooka-Laylee game on the SNES.

Splatoon 2 A Hit This Weekend

If you have a Nintendo Switch, you would have had the option to download and play a little of Splatoon 2 this weekend, and from the buzz on Twitter today, it appears as if these people were generally happy with the experience. Two maps were available for players to run around and splat ink in. The ultimate goal was to test the servers on a heavy load, and with few reports of dropped games, I'd assume it went fairly well.

Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns – Summer, Year 1

We are back! If you remember when the last Story of Seasons game launched on the Nintendo 3DS, I did a number of diary entries breaking down what I was doing each month. With this new release, Trio of Towns, I plan to do the same, instead of doing a traditional review. So, let's not waste any time and get into this! Nintendo of America Isn’t Ready to Say Goodbye To BoxBoy Yet

Bye-Bye Boxboy came out in Europe yesterday. Nintendo of America announced via twitter this month that the title would come out on March 23rd too. They quickly deleted that tweet and the title did not come out in North America yesterday! What happened? Nintendo of America isn’t ready to say Bye-Bye to Boxboy yet. In a statement to Polygon they said that “incorrect information about an upcoming game for Nintendo 3DS was posted on Nintendo of America’s social media channels”…

PDP Elite Player Backpack for Nintendo Switch

The Elite Player Backpack for the Nintendo Switch might just be the best accessory anyone can possibly purchase for their Nintendo Switch. As a portable system, you generally won't need to pack along a lot of accessories, but should you want to take your entire Switch unit with you somewhere - which I have - this storage and transport solution is the best product available. Let's dive in!

Yokaa-Laylee Is a Nostalgic Ride So Far

With review codes hitting media last night, it is obvious that Team 17 and Playtonic Games know they have a winner on their hands. The media is playing a game 3 weeks ahead of launch? The Embargo lift date is a week ahead of launch? Developers and publishers only do this when the title they are putting out is a home run, and so far, I think Yooka-Laylee is a HOME RUN.

Styx: Shards of Darkness a True Stealth Experience

I've not completely finished Styx: Shards of Darkness yet but I'm having a really great time with it as I go. Very few things frustrate me in this game, and the more I play it, the more I appreciate the stealth mechanics implemented by the developers. Whether I'm using elements to sneak around, or one of the many special skills that Styx can use, I'm always having a great experience and trying to figure out how to do things differently, more efficiently, and just flat out better.
