Building Bases in Portal Knights
I've spent a considerable amount of time building and maintaining a thriving base on the first world in Portal Knights. With the help of family - 2 brothers and a German exchange student to be precise - we have built houses, workshops, farms, and more to house our growing hoards, and to act as a base for all our operations. I've found one thing to be very true about these experiences: it is so relaxing. I never thought this type of game would cause me to relax and unwind, but this definitely has.
Xbox Game Pass Impressions
If you haven't heard yet, Microsoft announced Xbox Game Pass a few weeks ago, exclusively for Xbox Live Gold Members. For a very reasonable price - about the cost of a Netflix subscription - Xbox Gold owners can download and play 100 Xbox 360 and Xbox One titles on their Xbox One units. The obvious question is: are the games provided worth the investment? Well, after many hours using Game Pass, and playing a number of the games, we are ready to let you know what we think!
Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter – LEGO Review
The LEGO Star Wars theme has remained one of LEGO's most important thanks to new movies and TV shows that keep all the characters - both past and present - at the forefront of young and old minds alike. It seems as if LEGO is launching new Star Wars sets on a weekly basis, and for the most part, they are fantastic sets to put together. Recently, I put together Yoda's Jedi Starfighter, which was a fairly challenging and rewarding build. Check out my full review below the set details!
ARMS Global Testpunch
With the ARMS Global Testfire complete, people have been flooding the internet with streams and opinions on Nintendo's latest IP. For myself, ARMS really reminds me of Splatoon when it was first announced and shown off. Until you get your hands on it, you are pretty skeptical of the overall appeal. I had zero faith in, or desire to play, ARMS, but when you help run a video game website, taking one for the team and playing a game you don't think you will like is a requirement. Surprise surprise: I liked ARMS a lot!
Pokémon Sun and Moon Themed Decks
The Guardians Rising expansion for Pokémon Son and Moon has been a big hit at retail already, with many of the booster packs, decks, and Elite Trainer boxes becoming almost impossible to find. We've already unboxed and reviewed a number of packs earlier, so I hope you will check them out! While I will copy and paste a few of the Guardians Rising details here again, the majority of this review will be looking at the themed decks and how they play in a game!
Fire Emblem Echoes Review in Progress Part 4: Story and Gameplay
Story is always super important in Fire Emblem games. Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates had huge complex stories with a lot of dialogue, in cutscenes and support conversations. Fire Emblem Echoes is no different. For part 4 of our review in progress, we’ll take a look at Echoes’ story, how its gameplay ties into it, and whether or not the story and gameplay so far live up to the previous games. We’ll try to keep things as spoiler…
LEGO Brick Headz – The Hulk
About a week ago, we reviewed our first ever LEGO Brick Headz set here on GamesReviews.com and gave it a very favourable review. Not only does the figure look good on display, but the box artwork also adds to the aesthetic of having these sets on my desk at work. I get many compliments about them, and find myself referring people more and more often to the nearest toy store to grab their own. Like the Iron Man set, Hulk also comes with many hard-to-find pieces, making the 9.99 investment incredibly worth it.
Fire Emblem Echoes Review in Progress Part 3: The Sounds
I continue to play Fire Emblem Echoes a lot. I currently have thirty hours on the game and the ending is nowhere in sight. Echoes, like the previous games, is a really well put together game so far. And one of the most impressive parts of the game is the sounds: soundtrack, sound effects, and the voice acting. In part 3 of my Review in Progress, I’ll take a look at the spectacular sounds of Fire Emblem Echoes. Right away,…

Fire Emblem Echoes Review in Progress Part 2: 3DS Features
I have twenty some hours on Fire Emblem Echoes now. While a full review of Echoes is still a little ways off, I wanted to provide our readers with even more insight into this new game for 3DS. In Part 2 of my Review in Progress, I will talk about Fire Emblem Echoes’ 3DS features. All of the gameplay for Fire Emblem Echoes takes place on the top screen. While this means that there is no touch screen controls for …
