LEGO 60194 – Arctic Scout Truck Review
Thanks to our good friends at The LEGO Group, we had the opportunity to build and review LEGO set #60194, the Arctic Scout Truck. At roughly 59.99 USD, this set doesn't meet our 10 cents / piece threshold that deems a LEGO set a good value, but offers up enough unique pieces that make it a worthwhile purchase anyway. Let's dive in and see how this set goes together!
Why Are We Seeing a Trend of Reality TV-Inspired Mobile Games?
Gaming has always been ripe for exploration when it comes to other forms of media. From the amazing Riddick games from Starbreeze to the critically and commercially panned Superman 64 from now-defunct studio Titus Interactive, adaptions here have run the gambit of both time and quality. In the modern age, however, we are noticing a definite trend of reality television shows increasingly being adapted into mobile games. So why is this happening, and is this a trend we expect to…
Syberia 3
Syberia 3 is an adventure game in the vain of King’s Quest or more recently, Thimbleweed, but without the humor and a ton more puzzles to solve. The game recently came to the Nintendo Switch and I received a review code for it. Is Syberia 3 a good game or should you skip this adventure? Before you start Syberia 3, make sure you watch ‘the previously on Syberia’ video. Syberia 3 does not introduce Kate Walker and throws you right…
Team Sonic Racing Delayed
Team Sonic Racing was expected soon (December), but we found out today via the official Sonic Twitter that the game has been delayed till May 21, 2019. Take a look at the tweet below and then come back for my thoughts on this delay. I’m not sure what to think of this delay. We all know Team Sonic Racing (probably) isn’t going to be as good as Mario Kart, but perhaps this delay will make it a better title than…
King Of The Hat Preview
2018 has been an impressive year on the indie gaming front, from the challenging platformer Celeste, to the virtual reality quest Moss, but as we approach the last few months the top spot is under threat. One game pegged to dominate the charts is that of King Of The Hat, a quirky brawler filled with hat-based antics and cat-based jokes – okay, hear us out. This jaunty game features a dozen characters, a stylishly entertaining style of play and a…
LEGO DC Super-Villains Review Part 2 of a two-part build
On Monday, I built part 1 of my review. Today, I’m finishing this build! Lets take a look at LEGO DC’s music/voice acting and its glitches. Also, I’ll conclude this build and slap a score on it as a finishing touch. I’ve had a lot of fun with this game. Time to find out what the build looks like! On Rock’n’Roll LEGO DC Super-Villains music is very good. I Fought the Law (and the Law Won) was especially an awesome…
Google Pixel 3 XL – Notch Issues?
While we work away on our Google Pixel 3 XL review, we wanted to quickly touch base on the notch controversy. In case you are not familiar, many people are questioning the size of the notch on the Google Pixel 3 XL; by notch, they are talking about the area on the top of the phone screen 'notched' out to accommodate some internal features, most notably here the dual selfie cameras and the large, front facing stereo speaker.
AVerMedia Live Gamer Ultra Review
I've wanted to launch a YouTube video for a long time now, but have always been a bit weary of getting into it because of the high costs, and perceived associated costs with getting everything you need to get started. It's daunting, and pulling the trigger on the necessary equipment can be costly, and time consuming as you research the different options available to you. Thanks to our good friends at AVerMedia, we were setup with the AVerMedia Live Gamer Ultra 4K capture device to begin creating videos on our YouTube channel, and even without secondary equipment, we have had a successful early run with a fantastic little device. How does it work? Let's dive in!
New “Sophisticated” Products for Nintendo Switch from PDP
We've always been huge fans of PDP accessories, and they have been pumping out some fantastic products for the Nintendo Switch, and other Nintendo family of systems devices. PDP products have ranged from fun and goofy to serious and 'classy,' and their latest lineup definitely falls into the latter half of that spectrum.
Lego DC Super-Villains First Impressions
Yesterday, I received a review code for Lego DC Super-Villains for the Nintendo Switch. I have been playing it some and I wanted to offer my first impressions of the game! What do I think of Lego DC Super-Villains so far? I’m a comic book fan. I will admit that I’m more of a Marvel fan than a DC fan but I do like DC Comics a lot. I’m especially a fan of The Flash, Green Lantern, Batman, and Superman.…
