Greedy Kingdoms – How to Play

Two player games are all the rage with my wife and I right now because we can quickly get a game going, perhaps while watching a show on TV, and have a great time. They are generally quick, easy to pick up and play, and compact for when braining on dates. Greedy Kingdoms fits this bill, and is a really great experience. But let’s look at how to play! Setup Separate the two players heroes decks from each other and…

More Thoughts From Me #179: If You Built It, He Will Jump

Super Mario Maker 2 has been out for a little bit and I’ve been playing through the story mode and also…I’ve been building levels! Today I wanted to talk about the level creator. Is it better than the first game? Super Mario Maker 2’s level builder is a lot like the first games. Treasure X: Quest for Gold Review

One of the hardest things to do with a family board game is to create something that is entertaining for parents and exhilarating for kids. Many games attempt at striking this good balance, and ultimately fail. The reason is fairly simple: adult minds and children's minds think very differently, and trying to create a game for both is next to impossible. What many publishers and developers have decided to do is create experiences that are tailored to kids, but have enough to keep adults entertained. Enter Treasure X: Quest for Gold, a simplistic treasure collection game that kids will absolutely love, and parents will easily tolerate!

The Dragon Quest Story in Builders 2

Previously, I told you some about Dragon Quest Builders 2 in general and then spotlighted the game’s online sharing too. This time, I want to talk a little bit about the game’s story mode. The first Dragon Quest Builders wasn’t really focused on its story. It was much more focused on building. There was even an extra mode, Create Mode, that was all for building stuff. Meanwhile, the second game focuses on the story right from the start and introduces…

Archlion Saga

KEMCO rpgs are always good. Some of them, in my opinion, are better than others but generally the company puts out good games. I especially like when they do games with retro 8/16 bit graphics. Archlion Saga for Nintendo Switch, out today, is KEMCO’s newest rpg with retro graphics. Is it a good game too? Archlion Saga is an rpg that harkens back to the NES/SNES rpgs. The graphics are in that style and the battle system is very similar…
