Summer in Mara Coming This Month

Summer in Mara was originally a crowd funded title - which we backed on Indigogo in Canada. The game is a play on the Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons franchise, although probably resembles something like My Time at Portia from Team 17. Last week, the development teamed announced that people could play through the prologue on Steam. While we haven't done that yet - waiting on our Switch review opportunity, check in next week! - others have.

More Thoughts From Me #224: I finally play Phantasy Star

Happy Console Gamer on YouTube is a huge fan of the Phantasy Star series. He talks about it a lot. I had never played the series. Until now. Last week I finally bought the first Phantasy Star for the Nintendo Switch! What do I think of the game? I’ve been curious about Phantasy Star ever since I first heard Happy Console Gamer talk about it. The footage he showed of the game looked neat. I had never played the game…

Turmoil Impressions (Nintendo Switch)

Turmoil, an oil baron simulator, has been out on PC for several years now, but it just made the leap to the Switch.  It’s a fun, if somewhat shallow, game that wouldn’t really make sense on other consoles.  In Turmoil, you compete with three other AI characters to extract oil from various plots of land, earning money to be spent at an auction on shares that will determine the next mayor of the town. The game consists of two phases,…

Sony Delays PS5 Event in the Wake of Nationwide Protests

While we all could use a good news story, I think Sony is doing the right thing. Playstation tweeted that it would be delaying its Playstation 5 event originally scheduled for June 4. “While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard,” the tweet said. The announcement comes after a…

Should Super Mario Galaxy be Turned into a Nintendo Switch Collection?

Take Two launched a number of fantastic collections over the weekend on Nintendo Switch, and while financial numbers have not been released yet, fans seem to be very impressed with both the Borderlands Collection and the BioShock Collection. But that made us wonder, with very little Nintendo news on the horizon, what is the possibility we will get more collections brought over to the Nintendo Switch, either by Nintendo, or third parties? We think the probability is pretty high, at least with Nintendo titles. Here are some collections we would love to see.

Sony and Microsoft Taking Different Approaches on Next Gen

Twitter could possibly be the most toxic place on the internet for most things, and video games are not immune to that either. The number of fanboys who attempt to validate their video games console preferences grows daily, and it's further proof of how pathetic people can be. Xbox fans bash Sony fans because we haven't received a ton of PS5 details. PS4 fans bash Xbox fans for, well...almost anything and everything. But the different approaches to next gen for both companies make a ton of sense, and when you assess them rationally, stupid comments about why one is and one isn't going all in with details should be put aside, because it's all pretty simple.

Once Upon A Bug: A Look At Bug Fables for Nintendo Switch

Bug Fables looks like Paper Mario. That can’t be denied. But is it just a Paper Mario copycat or is there something more to it? Let’s take a look at Bug Fables for Nintendo Switch eshop! Bug Fables caught me by surprise. This game wasn’t even on my radar. It was only a couple of days ago that I sort of heard of it but thought “Bugs? eh.” I had no idea what it was or anything. Then yesterday I…
