Through the Ages: New Leaders and Wonders Expansion Review

Through the Ages is one of the best board games, both in my opinion and based on the opinion of millions of users on Board Game Geek. While the game appears incredibly complex when you get it out of the box - there literally are hundreds of cards to sift through, sort, and set up! - the game play is so intuitive and easy to understand, and by your third or fourth round, it will all feel very natural.

Limited Stock as LEGO Super Mario Popularity Soars

When LEGO and Nintendo first announced the LEGO Super Mario line-up of building block sets, I was incredibly skeptical. Instead of traditional LEGO minifigure sized sets, LEGO opted to created more interactive experience with large, chunky character and figures to play with. And from early reviews across the board - from brick review companies to video game review companies - reviews of the toys have been surprisingly good, pushing me to buy up any stock I can! There is one problem though - I cannot find local stock.

Genki Covert Dock

When the Genki Covert Dock popped up on Kickstarter last year, I was definitely intrigued. How could something so small, do so much? I'll admit right here, that using third party docks definietly worried me as so many others had failed and bricked systems. Thankfully, by all accounts, this dock from Genki won't cause those problems, and I cannot wait to try it out!

My life is a mess. I won’t go into details but things have gone downhill for…

Fake News has Become the Main Weapon of the Console Wars

Did you hear? Microsoft don’t see Sony as a competitor anymore. They don’t believe in generations. Hell, they don’t even care how many Series X consoles they sell. None of that is true, by the way, but don’t let that get in the way of a good dig at Xbox. It’s easier to pretend your most hated piece of plastic is a mess when you choose to follow carefully selected pieces of propaganda instead of, I don’t know, reading the…

The Highs and Lows of The Origami King

When Nintendo announced and showed a brief snipit of Paper Mario: The Origami King, I was cautiously optimistic that the company was returning to what made the first two titles in the series so fantastic. Then they showed the puzzle battle system. Then they announced via an interview with Game Informer that there wouldn't be any experience points. And my hopes for the game went from an 8-9/10 to a 2-3/10. Gutted would have been the correct word to use.

Nintendo is like Disney – Protecting the Brand

There is always tons of discussion around Nintendo Switch game pricing. Not the initial price, which falls in line with other major publishers, but rather the price of a game two...three...may be even four years down the line. Want Breath of the Wild, a Nintendo Switch Launch title? Be ready to pay almost full price if you are getting via the eShop or at retail.

Grounded First Impressions

After finally firing up Grounded on my Xbox One X via Xbox Game Pass, I quickly realized I had one major complaint - that the game didn't launch at 12:01 AM Eastern, instead launching at 1:00 PM Eastern. There are few games I ever pre-load onto my Xbox console, but Grounded was one of them. Since it was announced, I've been excited and hyped for the experience. The question is - did it live up to my wild expectations?
