Pokémon Scarlet DLC: “The Teal Mask” Review
Pokémon Scarlet received an 8.0 review from us when it came out. And now there’s DLC for the game. Is it as great as the main game or should fans give this one a pass? Here is our review of “The Teal Mask” Pokémon DLC.
In “The Teal Mask” Pokémon Scarlet DLC, our main character goes to another country and visits another school. He meets a brother and sister there who become his new friends. Not only that, but he encounters a mystery involving a masked ogre! The new characters, the brother and sister, are a lot of fun and the new story is good too. What about the gameplay though?
The gameplay in “The Teal Mask” is pretty much the same as what you find in the main game. Wandering around the battle system, and other elements work the same way as Scarlet. The DLC feels like apart of the main game that we are just now visiting. Basically, here’s a new side story of Pokémon Scarlet. Yes, its “more of the same” but if you enjoyed Scarlet, then you’ll love this DLC too.
Visually and audibly, the game is the same too. The new area does have its own nice style, but its a style that’s built on the graphics of the main game. “The Teal Mask” has all the same flaws that the main game has, such as slowdown and pop-ins, and many of its strengths too. Fans of Scarlet will have to get this DLC.
If you loved Scarlet, then you’re going to need “The Teal Mask” DLC. Yes, the gameplay is “most of the same” but the new story, new characters, and new area to explore are all excellent. The Teal Mask is a fun addition to Scarlet and its likely that the next DLC will be the same way. This is a must have for fans of Pokémon Scarlet.
