Fae Farm Review
Fae Farm is the latest game in the farm simulation genre to be brought to the Switch. We had a preview awhile back which had very positive impressions. Does Fae Farm hold up though? Is this a game that simulation game fans will enjoy? Here is our review of Fae Farm for the Nintendo Switch!
Fae Farm is not just a farming simulation game. You can farm but the game is set in a fantasy setting with a story that progresses as you play. The story features you as an outsider coming to a faraway land that seems pretty normal but you start finding monsters and some more fantasy areas that we won’t spoil. The story is pretty good and we recommend at least focusing on it up until the end of Chapter 4. That’s when the game really starts to open up! We won’t spoil how but we will say that this is when the game starts to get really exciting.
Of course, if you don’t want to focus on the story or want a break from it there are plenty of distractions. You can catch bugs, fish, do side quests, fight monsters, mine, and more. There’s so much to do in Fae Farm and its very easy to play this game for hours. You can even play the game with your friends online but we didn’t get the chance to check that out. This is a super addictive game! Though it should be noted that like Harvest Moon, your character gets tired the more they work, so you’ll want to keep some food on hand. There is a day/night cycle and the seasons change quickly too. Fae Farm is a lot like Rune Factory expect in a fantasy land.
The game has been running great on the Switch lately (it did have a few bumps before a recent update) and the controls are very easy to learn. Fae Farm’s dungeons do great a bit harder as you progress in the game but there are so many potions and other things you can get that’ll help you out. If you liked games like Rune Factory or other simulation games with farming and fighting, then Fae Farm will likely be a game you’ll want to check out. It has pretty good graphics too!
Fae Farm has really good graphics. Its a very colorful game with well designed characters and enemies. Its graphics are a bit like Stardew Valley or the older Rune Factory.
Overall, Fae Farm is a great game. There is so much to do in this game that its unlikely that simulation fans will get tired of it fast. It also sounds like it will be well supported post-launch too. Hopefully more content will be added to the game to extend Fae Farm’s life for a long time. As it is now though, if you love simulation games with farming, fighting and side quests, then you’ll want to check out Fae Farm!
