Sea of Stars Review
Sea of Stars is a much anticipated, much hyped upcoming indie rpg. And the game comes out tomorrow! We’ve been playing and now its time for our review. Does Sea of Stars for the Nintendo Switch live up to the hype?
Sea of Stars is about two young people, Valere and Zale, who want to be warriors. They get their chance when they are recruited to become the newest Solstice warriors. Unfortunately, their best friend Garl is not picked to become a warrior. After years away from him though, they do end up going on an adventure with Garl anyway. And that’s all we’ll tell you about the story. There are so many surprising twists and turns in this story. Sea of Stars also has a lot of humor, but its not afraid to go dark or make you cry. The dialogue in this game is pretty great too. Its a wonderful story and the gameplay is just as good.
Sea of Seas is a lot of fun. If you love turn-based combat, then you’ll love this game a lot. The combat is very inspired by Chrono Trigger: you see the enemy on the field and then jump into battle with the menu popping up. There is no load time for battles at all. There is a bit of load time when you go into a new area, but its never too long of a wait. Sea of Stars runs fantastic on the Nintendo Switch. We’ve seen no slowdown or any other trouble and that’s really impressive. Sea of Stars isn’t a huge game, but its not a small game either.
There is a lot to see and do in this game besides battles. There are mini-games, like fishing, and the areas you explore are pretty big for the most part. You’ll want to explore every nook and cranny to find hidden items and see everything there is to see in this game. There are so many cool places to visit and we won’t spoil anything. The less you know about Sea of Stars story and gameplay, the better! Also, it should be pointed out that this is a really great looking game.
Sea of Stars is an absolutely beautiful game. The characters are so detailed and wonderfully animated. Everyone from the main characters to npcs to enemies look great. Many of the characters in the game has great drawn character portraits in their dialogue boxes too. And there are fantastic animated cutscenes that we wouldn’t dare spoil! Sea of Stars is a visual treat.
Its also an audio treat too. Sea of Stars has an amazing soundtrack. All of the music in this game is fantastic and so are the sound effects. Sea of Stars lives up to the hype and even surpasses it. If you like turn-based rpgs, then you’ll need to play this one!
Sea of Stars takes inspiration from classic jrpgs and crafts a story and gameplay that fans of the genre will love. Everything about this game is magical and it lives up to the hype that’s building for it and actually surpasses it. RPG fans should not pass on this game. Sea of Seas is a must have for any system you can get it on. Though, if you need to play it in handheld mode, the Nintendo Switch is an amazing way of experiencing this instant classic.
