Dungeons of Hinterberg was just released for Xbox and Xbox Games Pass Ultimate. We were provided with a review code to check it out! Is this a fun game? Should you check it out on Game Pass? Here is our review of Dungeons of Hinterberg for the Xbox Series S!
In Dungeons of Hinterberg, a lawyer named Luisa goes on vacation to a town called Hinterberg. She’s tired of her day-to-day life and wants a change. She wants Adventure. And this is the town where Adventure awaits. Its surrounded by different areas with multiple dungeons and Luisa wants to visit every single one of them!
This is the set up to Dungeons of Hinterberg and it’s really good. The various characters you’ll meet are all interesting and unique. And the character’s dialogue is great and super easy to read thanks to the game’s large text. There’s a very good story here, but how is the gameplay?
The main hub world, Hinterberg, is a fun town to explore: with many NPCs to interact with and shops to visit. The social aspect is really good: you’ll find yourself interacting with cool new characters and learning new things that’ll help elsewhere. It’s fun, but the main part of the game is the dungeons!
As you play Dungeons of Hinterberg, you’ll unlock new hub worlds to explore with each one of them having multiple dungeons to find and explore. The dungeons range from small to huge places. They have puzzles to solve, enemies to fight, and loot to find. The combat is definitely action packed and easy to learn, but the characters health can be leveled up be mediating at certain spots in the dungeon hub worlds and new loot that you find or buy can be used to make your character stronger.
Not only that, but each world you visit will introduce you to new magic and you can use the spells in creative ways in and out of the dungeons. Our jaw was on the floor the entire time exploring this wonderful game. Its so addictive and it looks great too!
Dungeons of Hinterberg is a beautiful game. The cel-shaded graphics look especially great on all the characters, though each of the environments in the game are spectacular. Everything in this game is so well designed, it’s a joy to explore.
In fact, that describes Dungeons of Hinterberg very well: it’s a joy. From its neat storyline and dialogue to its fantastic gameplay and graphics, this game is an absolute gem. If you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you need to download this game now! If you don’t have Game Pass, then you need to buy this game. Dungeons of Hinterberg should not be missed!
