Tales of Autumn Review
Tales of Autumn is a farming sim that arrived on the Nintendo Switch recently. Is it any good? Here’s our review!
Tales of Autumn starts with the main character coming into town to take over the local farm. From there, they’ll interact with people in the town and get to know them through dialogue and special events. Tales of Autumn’s story works a lot other farm sims, with characters coming to you to start special events or you happening upon these moments. Its an alright story but farm sims are not focused largely on their stories. It’s the gameplay that counts.
The gameplay is Tales of Autumn is very standard farm sim fare: you get animals to feed, plant crops, craft, and interact with the locals. It all works fine but we’ve seen this before and a lot better with game’s like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon. The gameplay here is good but generic.
The controls work well and nothing is too complicated. Tales of Autumn is a relaxing farm sim. If you’ve played every other farm sim out there, then you may want to check out this one. Even the game’s graphics are just fine, though could be better.
Tales of Autumn is an old school looking game along the lines of Stardew Valley. Though Stardew Valley’s graphics are definitely better. Theres really nothing special about the graphics and in fact, nothing special is really what sums up this game.
Overall, Tales of Autumn is a fine game. The gameplay and graphics are good. Its just all very generic though. There’s nothing that makes this game stand out, especially when there’s already so many farm sims out there. We’d recommend only getting this one if you desperately need a new farm sim and the game is on sale.
