The front cover of May's issue of Game Informer officially reveals the next game in the Batman Arkham series. Arkham Origins has been mentioned in rumours for well over a month now, and the rumours have turned out to be true. The game will take us to before Joker's capture at the beginning of Arkham Asylum, to when Batman was first starting out his crime fighting adventure, and to the first super villains he put down.

Borderlands 2 Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode Review
Originally, Borderlands 2 was not designed with a level cap raise in mind – everything in development was geared towards maxing out at 50. So when thousands of Borderlands 2 gamers had multiple level 50 character a few months (or weeks, in many cases) after release, Gearbox found themselves in a bit of a conundrum: stick to their guns, or go back in and tinker with the math to add more levels?
Read MoreNext Xbox Will Almost Certainly be Always-On
After months of rumours about the next-gen Xbox needing an always-on connection, the speculations came to a crescendo last night as the Microsoft Studios creative director, Adam Orth, took to Twitter defending an always-on console. It might just be a hypothetical thing, of course, but for all intents and purposes, he's just confirmed always-on in the minds of millions of people. Orth's Twitter account is now, understandably, set to private.

Dynasty Warriors 8, the latest in the popular beat 'em up franchise, will be making its way westward later this year, with an EU release date of 19th July. Dynasty Warriors 8 boasts an unbelievable 70 playable characters, including several that have been 'faceless' up until now. More characters, more modes and a return of the what-if? scenarios that were sure a big part of the earlier Xtreme Legends packs are sure to make this a must-play for fans. Since Dynasty Warriors 4, fans have often been a little hesitant with the positive numbered games, so it's nice ...

In the last few years, the big budgets and carefully-constructed profit margins of AAA-titles have unfortunately taken a toll on the creativity of games. There are more modern/futuristic war first-person shooters and open world action games than ever - and at the same time, less unique protagonists and stories being told within these genres. Although some of these games may be impressive with game mechanics and scope of their story, I've felt less of a connection with the characters I control and as a byproduct, the journeys I take with them become easier to ...
Read MoreThere’s Already a Petition to bring Hayter back to The Phantom Pain
It’s been only a little over twelve hours since we got our first proper look at Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and less since we discovered the voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, David Hayter, would not be reprising his role. It’s odd – especially since the Japanese Snake actor is confirmed to be returning – and it’s made people angry. Some even feel dedicated enough to petition Kojima and Konami in the hopes of changing their…

With the almost unthinkable announcement that David Hayter would not be returning for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, many people have taken to trying to explain why that might be. Perhaps Richard Doyle is coming in, now that Big Boss is getting older? Maybe a young Solid Snake is appearing, voiced by the only guy we thought could play the character? All are possible, if a little unfounded. The theories don’t hold much water when you realize Akio…
Read MoreOld Kojima Tweet Foretells Phantom Pain Reveal, Online Multiplayer, Release Date?
Can Kojima say or do anything that isn't later seen as part of some big conspiracy? In December 2011, the Metal Gear Solid creator posted a tweet about game promotion in the western market. At the time it had people scratching their heads - it didn't really fit with anything he'd been promoting up until that point (certainly not Metal Gear Rising). Move forward a year and a bit, and things are starting to fall into place...
Read MorePhantom Pain – Hospital Level is a Tutorial
There are a lot of people debating the meaning behind the Hospital in the newly unveiled Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and rightly so. An awful lot of the new trailer seems to revolve around the area, as did the last trailer. Lost amid the excitement, however, is the fact that the Hospital is set to be the game’s opening tutorial level. This was confirmed by Kojima during the presentation. This means an awful lot to discussing the…
