Observer: System Redux Review (PS5)

Observer is a psychological horror video game played from a first-person perspective. The player controls Daniel Lazarski, a Krakowian detective of the Observers police unit. He can hack people’s brain implants with a device known as the Dream Eater, for interrogation purposes. Equipped with augmented vision split into Electromagnetic Vision—which scans for electronic devices—and Bio Vision—which scans for biological evidence —he can analyze and highlight certain objects in his environment. Objects can be interacted with and examined, while dialogue ...

Xbox Game Pass – The Ultimate Demo Service?

I've been using Xbox Game Pass since the day it was announced and offered to Xbox consumers, and for a long time, I almost fell sway to the folks who said, "Yah, but you don't actually own the games." Over the past while, I've been using my Xbox a bit less than I normally would - this is the first time I've owned all three major consoles at once! - but anytime I load it up, I often find myself looking through the Game Pass games to see what's new and what I might want to play.

Flight Simulator Now Available on Xbox Series X / Series S

One of the most impressive games of last year drops today on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S and I couldn’t be more excited. When Xbox Canada reached out with a review opportunity last year for Flight Simulator on PC, I was really bummed out since my PC is straight out of 2015, and was never going to run that gorgeous game. Fast forward to today, and I’ll get that wish, with Flight Simulator on Xbox, available on Game Pass.

Steam Deck is More Than Just PC Gaming on the Move

Steam Deck could be an instant success – it’s every advantage of the Switch while surpassing it graphically, even offering up many of the best titles from the Series X and PlayStation 5. This thing could revolutionise the entire industry, and especially on the PC side. But only if people know it exists. Because that’s the rub. I was an avid fan of the Steam Controller, despite not being a massive PC gamer. I ranted and raved about how much…

Final Fantasy X-2 Still Doesn’t Work – And A Sequel Wouldn’t Help

Another game in the Final Fantasy X universe is in the early planning stages, and there’s even a chance it might actually see the light of day. As somebody still trying to get through the slog of Final Fantasy X-2, I’m not convinced this is a good thing. Final Fantasy X-2 is famously divisive. Some praise it for its excellent job system and attention to world development. Everybody else knocks it for… well, just about every other element. The story…

F1 2021 Review (Xbox Series)

Starting from pole position in the opening race of the season, I’ve got high hopes for the ensuing 29 laps around Bahrain’s circuit. Five red lights and away we go!    I get wheelspin off the line and am instantly surrounded by Mercedes; sandwiched through a turn, I clip my nose on Lewis Hamilton’s tire, damaging the front end and sending the defending champion down the field. Max Verstappen takes the opportunity to jump into the lead. Instead of pitting…

A Plague Tale: Innocence – Next-Gen Review

An historic Last of Us with rats instead of zombies. There ya go – everything you need to know about A Plague Tale: Innocence. Asobo have almost cracked the Naughty Dog code straight out of the gate with their first game in this style, and that’s incredible. ‘Almost’ is carrying a lot of weight in that sentence though. Intention doesn’t usually mean an awful lot in reviews – something is successful or it’s not – but here I think it’s…
