PES 2019 Review

Although I now risk sounding like a broken record, with another year of PES soccer upon us, wr have yet another year to talk about how the soccer mechanics outshine the competition, but how through game still lacks the modes and licences of "the other guy." It's become a cycle to be sure, as felt PES 17 and PES 18 both outshined FIFA on the field, while struggling off it. While I hoped 19 might be the breakout year for PES, I was unfortunately wrong, but I'm not sure it's Konami's fault.

Strange Brigade Review

Rebllion is know for creating some over the top gaming mechanics - trust us, there is nothing more satisfying then a headshot in the Sniper Elite series - but has often opted to create serious missions with unique gameplay elements. Enter Strange Brigade, with lots of over the top mechanics; however, the realism of World Wars has been replaced with the craziness of treasure hunting, complete with undead, scarabs, and much more. Can Rebellion swap out serious story telling for an over the top, unbelievable adventure? Let's take a look!

Adventure Time: Pirates of Enchiridion Review

Adventure Time might be saying adios on the television this September, but the team behind the popular franchise have partnered with Climax Studios to launch the surprisingly good Adventure Time...adventure...Pirates of Enchiridion, a fantastic turn based RPG game with fantastic writing, great locations to explore, and all your favourite characters from the show. With so many lackluster Adventure Time game releases to date, is this one able to get over the hump and border on good, perhaps even great? Let's take a look!

Shinning Resonance Refrain Review

When Shinning Resonance Refrain first launched exclusively in Japan on the PS3 a number of years ago, the reaction to the title was fairly mixed. Now many years later, the developers have determined that new HD version of the game was necessary to pull in a Western audience, and thanks to the developers, we were able to review the experience on PS4. Is the game worth playing a second time, all these years later? Was enough added to make it different? Let's dive in!

Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard

When you hear about video games based on movies, it's not uncommon to instantly assume what you are about to play will be complete trash. And if I'm being honest, the only reason why I requested this game in the first place was for my kids to have an opportunity to play it, while I did my review. This review request was driven by my kids, but I'm thankful they pushed me towards it because Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard is a fantastic experience on the system.

Vampyr Review

The dark and dreary setting of World War 1 London wasn't something I thought i would ever enjoy, but when you factor in vampires and an intriguing story, perceptions begin to change. From beginning to end, Vampyr was a story I constantly was engaged with, and although the lackluster and clunky combat almost held me back a few times, the running story and character progression kept me focused on the end game.

State of Decay 2 Review

Microsoft's focus in 2018 so far has been multiplayer experiences; this began with Sea of Thieves which launched just a few months ago in March, which has been followed up by the highly anticipated open world zombie game, State of Decay 2. While spending time with friends in this expansive world is lots of fun, technical hiccups and lack of variety hold this title back from being one of the brightest on the Xbox

Sea of Thieves Review

Sea of Thieves is a game that is LOADED with potential, but little of which is released at this time. It's also a game I will keep coming back to from time-to-time to see what has been changed and updated. What is hear is great, but when you are asking 59.99 USD for the experience, it quickly becomes apparent that what's here isn't worth the retail purchase price. On the flip side, for those looking at it via Xbox Game Pass, there is plenty of value here for your $10 a month entrance price.

Far Cry 5 Review

When a franchise gets into it's 4th or 5th title, sometimes bad habits or complacency sets in and what consumers ultimately get at retail is a paired down, lackluster experience that disappoints in many ways. Ubisoft themselves have been partially guilty of this, especially when you look back on releases like Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed Unity. However, this is a company that has learned from the past, and the recent release of Assassin's Creed Origins is proof that Ubisoft knows how to create fantastic experiences. Far Cry 4 was good, but never ...

Real Farm Review

Farming Simulation games have a huge following, mostly from European gamers, and because of the immense success of the Farming Simulator franchise, more and more companies are coming to the table with their own versions. Real Farm from SOEDESCO is a great example of a company looking to take that formula, change it up a bit to make it their own, and release it to the public. But when you are going up against such a beloved franchise, how hard is it to rise to the top? And is your game going to be any good, or just be considered a knock off? We look at this, ...
