Wolfenstein: Youngblood feat

Wolfenstein: Youngblood Review

When diving into the world of Wolfenstein there are plenty of expectations. The alternative-history franchise has a large following of players that judge every new game based on the ones that came before it. This may be an inevitable human trait, but it often does not to justice to the raw quality of the newer title. This pitfall may be one of the biggest reasons some people will shy away from Wolfenstein: Youngblood as it plays drastically differently from its predecessors. This is not, however, necessarily a bad thing. Join us as we dive into this new co-op ...

More Thoughts From Me #180: Make Mine Marvel (Games)

I’ve always been a Marvel comics fan. Spider-man is my all-time favorite superhero. But I also like Daredevil, Silver Surfer, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, etc. The Marvel movies are great and I think that Marvel has some excellent video games too. So today, I want to talk about what my favorite Marvel games are past and present. I’ll also look into the future! What do I hope we’ll see next? I’m currently playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3…

Monster Jam Steel Titans Review

Monster Jam Steel Titans is one of the better Monster Truck games to ever land on consoles – the fantastic handling is the primary reason it stands so high above everyone else. While I had a lot of fun with the game, I let friends and family take their hand at the game, and it wasn’t as pretty. I came to a very real and quick observation: this game is too damn hard. Monster Jam Steel Titans is the 5th…

How CTR Nitro-Fueled Perfectly Executed A Remaster

It is very common these days for game developers to release remastered versions of their older games. Typically, the games selected for remaster were revolutionary and wildly successful. In turn, the franchises selected are typically (but not always) those that have not received as much success since this breakout title. While Crash Bandicoot remains an iconic character, there really has not been a game as appealing as the original Crash Team Racing within the franchise. Considering that release was almost exactly 20 years ago, it seems the ideal candidate ...

‘Would you kindly?’: The illusion of choice in gaming

Making choices in video games is a bit like a cool morris dancer or an ideal candidate for dealing with Brexit – they don’t exist. Even in games that pretend to offer decision after decision to affect your play, the reality is that you have only two choices. You can keep playing or you can turn it off. That’s it. That might sound reductionist, and in many ways it is, but think about it. Developers make a world that they…

Top 5 Hitman Games of All Time

Since its launch in 2000, the Hitman franchise has experienced one reboot after another. It also inspired two films, one graphic novel, and an online slot. Gamers always differ on which Hitman game is the best but one thing is clear: it’s not the original. It’s an unfortunate occurrence. Hitman: Codename 47 introduced the incredible game to the world. But for better or for worse, the game inspired the creation of much better sequels. Below are five of the best…
