I've always been fairly critical of Club Nintendo. So has many other outlets, so it came as no surprise that Nintendo announced the cancellation of the program. However, they knew that many fans had hundreds, if not thousands, of coins to use. Nintendo offered up some great rewards for users to spend their coins on.

Still no GameCube VC: Nintendo Saves the best for Remastered Editions
Nintendo is the worst. They are the best, obviously, but they are the worst. During the last Nintendo Direct, we were promised a new service coming to the Wii U: Digital Wii Games. That's amazing right? While I would argue that it is, I cannot say it's what I really wanted. However, Nintendo is - and should be since they are a company - looking out for themselves and their bottom dollar, so while digital Wii games makes financial sense, having digital GameCube games makes more sense, for consumers.

Nintendo announced the 4th wave of the toy-to-life franchise amiibo during their first Nintendo Direct of 2015. The next wave of the Smash Bros. amiibo packs some heavy hitters from the world of Nintendo as Robin and Lucina from Fire Emblem, Ness from Earthbound, Wario, Charizard and even Pac-Man will be releasing on April 24th. It’s safe to bet that these all will sell out well before they are actually launched so if you want one you better be ready to click that pre-order button whenever it becomes available.

Nintendo’s first direct of 2015 showed off a lot of new beautiful things however none as fascinating as the new trailer for Xenoblade Chronices X. Simply titled “Exploration trailer” the game looks to capitalize and expand on the world of Xenoblade in many ways by mirroring the vast world that the player could explore for days. The trailer itself focused solely on the exploration aspects of Xenoblade Chronicles and not one battle was included in it. It was an interesting concept that really showcased the grand scale of XCX’s beauty without random battles and ...

Amiibo are currently shaping up to be one of Nintendo’s best ideas in years. With the holiday season rapidly approaching, Nintendo couldn’t have launched their new toy line at a better time. Nintendo recently announced that over 700,000 amiibo have been sold in the U.S. alone and that the gaming giant is projected to make $1 billion in U.S. market in amiibo sales as Tomoaki Kawasaki, a Tokyo-based analyst with Iwai Cosmo Securities Co., told Bloomberg.

People are beginning to realize that certain amiibo figures are harder to find than others, most notably Marth, Animal Crossing Villager, and the Wii Fit Trainer. No one really know whether or not these are limited run figures or not, but Nintendo finally spoke on the issue. From Nintendo of Canada PR.

We all now about Nintendo's struggles in 2013. At least, that's what too many people seem to want to focus on. However, if you look at what Nintendo put out on their systems this year, you realize that of the big three, they hands down had the best, most consistent line up of quality, problem free, AAA titles. When you examine November releases, the Playstation 4 and Xbox One titles were plagued with problems not present in Nintendo offerings this year.

Statistics are out for Super Smash Bros Wii U, and things are looking great. In the first three days alone, Nintendo was able to move 500,000 digital and physical copies of the game, making it the fastest selling Wii U title of all time in North America. This is yet again another positive in the Wii U's problematic life time. To their credit, Nintendo has done so much right in the last year for the system, and it believe it is working.
Read MoreNintendo of Canada Calls November 21st Nintendo Day!
Nintendo Day 2014 is appropriately named. For Nintendo of Canada fans, November 21st isn't just a chance to play some of the latest Nintendo games and the yet to be released Amiibo figures at multiple events across the country, but it is also the same day that Pokemon Omega Ruby, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, and Super Smash Bros Wii U hits retail and the Nintendo eShop.
Read MoreNintendo Needs to Plan their Releases Better
Nintendo has come a long way since the release of the Wii U, and they deserve all the credit in the world for beginning what seemed like an impossible turn around. Sure, it is not the ideal situation they would like to be in, but things are rolling on with each new release, and that's definitely a positive. I only have one issue with what Nintendo continues to do: launching games on different dates in different regions, and releasing games that will inventively get swamped by better, bigger budge titles.
