Top 5 Youtube Video Game Channels

I’ve been watching a lot of Youtube Video Game Channels lately. I especially love hearing about retro video games, but even new stuff is cool too. So without further ado, here are my top 5 youtube video game channels! Oh and if you don’t want to read it, there’s a youtube video with me reading all this (though you’ll miss the youtube links if you don’t read too. heh). Just a note that everyone should include! This is my opinion…

With Two Massive Titles, Will Ubisoft Own Next Gen Launch Week?

Although Watch Dogs Legions is coming out at the end of October, it's close enough to the launch dates for Xbox Series X / Series S and PS5 to be considered a launch title - to be fair, it is a launch title officially, although not a 'new' launch title. Ubisoft loves to deliver great content for fans, but it's not often we get two mega titles so closely to each other. With Watch Dogs launching on October 29th, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla launching on November 10th, next generation launch week has Ubisoft written all over it.

Rumour: Canceled Superman game could have had Bizarro as villain

Supposedly leaked art for a canceled Superman game has revealed its villain could have been Bizarro. Rocksteady were working on a Superman game after finishing Arkham Knight, but it got canned by Warner Brothers. The studio, which has worked almost exclusively on Batman games since before 2009, is now developing a Suicide Squad game. Now concept artist Jerad Marantz has revealed concept art for Bizarro, which he says was designed for a cancelled game. Posted to ArtStation, he said: “One…

‘It isn’t worth chasing’: David Jaffe on Relevance, and the future of the PS5

Some controversial comments about the PlayStation 5 led to some unfair attacks on legendary game developer David Jaffe – and to the God of War creator defending himself. Users on Neogaf took offense at Jaffe’s comments that Sony would be relegated to “Nintendo circa Gamecube or N64”. Their first attack was on his relevance to the industry, and Jaffe was quick to hit back with some wise words. He said: “Most who talk about such things have yet to be…

Amazon UK sold out of PS5 in less than 30 minutes

Amazon UK stopped taking pre-orders for PlayStation 5 consoles in less than half an hour. Pre-orders went live at about 9.05am and the device was removed from searches on the website by 9.30am. The website currently reads: “We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.” Some reported issues before pre-orders were closed. The website was crashing, and some purchase links just returned hopeful gamers to the Amazon homepage. It’s unclear whether further batches will be…

There’s no need to believe in generations – and luckily Microsoft and Sony agree

In an ideal world, launch games would be generation proof right out of the gate. We’d have Last of Us 2 quality games to play on day one, developer experience be damned. That’s not the real world though. In the real world, generations are mostly bluff and bluster, and there’s no reason to force people to upgrade. Since it was revealed that Horizon and Spider-man will be cross-gen games last night, some have declared it the death of next-gen. Developers…

‘Bring Back the Battletoads’: Couch co-op is hurting, and it’s not getting better

Couch co-op has been on life support for longer than I care to think. Now even the staples are starting to get away from split-screen. With next-gen shockingly close, it doesn’t seem things are going to be getting any better. Battletoads gave a nostalgic feeling for a time when every great game seemed to be better with friends. That’s still true for today in many ways – so long as you’re not actually sat next to those friends. Keeping those…

Immortals: Fenyx Rising Shown At the Ubisoft Forward Event

Immortals: Fenyx Rising was shown at the Ubisoft Forward event. Check out some footage for the game below. We have some thoughts on it! Immortals: Fenyx Rising looks like Breath of the Wild had a bady with Greek Myth (or Assassin’s Creed Odyssey?). The game looks really good! Immortals, much like Breath of the Wild, will have a huge open world that players can explore from the get-go. The Greek myth inclusion: from Zeus to Medusa and more makes this…

Thank God for Leakers Who Do What Microsoft and Sony Don’t

In nine and a half weeks, the next generation begins. First the Xbox Series consoles will be on shelves, followed swiftly by the PlayStation 5. Nine and a half short weeks, and most of the stuff we know about these devices has still come via dodgy Twitter profiles and 4chan posts. It’d be easy to blame coronavirus or some dripfeed method of teasing, but it’s simpler than that: video game marketing is broken – and those dodgy Twitter profiles are…
