It's time for that irregular check-in, folks. The Last Guardian is still in development, is in a playable state and, according to Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, "looks pretty."

The most exciting news of last night (bar none) was almost definitely that PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 owners will be getting a bonus mission in the rather exciting Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. This mission, titled Déjà Vu, puts you in the role of "Classic Snake," the pixelated hero of Metal Gear Solid, and pits you against Genome soldiers in a Shadow Moses-esque setting.

The PlayStation 4 launch party in New York was bound to bring some news we either anticipated or were simply hoping for. The guys from Naughty Dog both surprised and excited fans with the reveal of Uncharted 4.

Fans of the Oddworld franchise will know exactly how New 'n' Tasty is made, but that won't stop the hair on the back of your neck from standing up when you watch this rather excellent trailer for Spring 2014's Abe's Oddysee remake. "I thought I had a good job..."

There won't be a specific Facebook app for PlayStation 4, despite the fact that you have the option to tie the social network into the OS. Why? Because maintaining an app is difficult and the PlayStation 4 browser is "pretty pleasant."

Rayman Legends will be making the jump to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in February 2014, Ubisoft have today revealed. The sequel to Rayman Origins and one of the best platform games of the year was previously released on Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Vita.

Trophies are awesome. We're all (pretty much) agreed on that now. Whether you see them as proof of your gaming prowess or simply as a check list towards everything a game has to offer, there's a good chance that the trophy has, in one way or another, changed the way you play. A minor change in the way trophies are displayed on PlayStation 4 might make your collection look even better than before.

It's a double-barrelled nightmare, but the first next-gen Middle-Earth game from Warner-Brothers (maybe not that last one) was today announced for Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

The PlayStation 4 isn't available in the UK until the end of the month, and yet more people have ordered the game for the PS4 than they have for the Wii U.
