Mass Effect 4 was inevitable, but today Electronic Arts announced further details about the latest game in the franchise. The most unfortunate detail? The game isn't coming until Holiday 2016. Not 2015, 2016. That is nearly 18 months away.

The definitive edition of Darksiders 2 is heading to current-generation consoles this winter according to a press release received from Evolve PR. Outside of the obvious visual improvements, the Deathinitive Edition will come with a host of other upgrades (list below).

At a time when fantasy RPG games are dominating the gaming world, smaller games struggle to compete with huge names like Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls to create innovative and beautiful worlds for their heroes to explore. Games like this must continue to be made so that the category is not solely ruled by large franchises; new ideas and creations can be born out of this diversity.
