You Can now turn off Trophy Notifications on PlayStation 3

The latest PlayStation 3 firmware update, 4.46, released today, has added the ability to turn off trophy notifications. For those who find the achievement hunting meta-game annoying or pointless, you can now make it so that your game isn't ever interrupted by that addictive but admittedly out of place sound.

PlayStation 3 Firmware 4.46 Now Available

PlayStation firmware 4.45 managed to brick a bunch of consoles, to the obvious annoyance of their owners. Sony have been pretty quick about releasing a new update to fix that problem and it's available right now. If you have automatic updates turned on as part of PlayStation Plus, you'll only need to install the update from your settings menu. Else you'll need to download it as well. Remember to add this time on if you're interested in playing anything today, especially online games.

Saints Row 4 banned in Australia

Australians rejoiced back in January when the Classification Board approved the selling of 18+ games. This new rating opened the doors for games such as God Of War: Ascension and Dead Island Riptide to be sold on Australian soil. No longer would games be condemed and deemed inappropriate for even adult gamers. Or at least so we thought.

Sony exclusive Puppeteer will soon be getting a demo. The game, which was formally announced last year, is a platformer of sorts that has you using a magical pair of scissors to attack enemies and alter the world. PS+ Content For July (And August?)

Sony have announced the content that will be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers in July. It's a great mix of some top games, things that are definitely going to help you prepare for a few big upcoming titles. Although you'll need to enjoy shooters to really get the most out of this month, the inclusion of Battlefield 3, Payday: The Heist and Saints Row the Third is sure to be enough to justify this month's pay. That's an awful lot for an awful little.

The Last of Us Rocks its First Weekend

The Last of Us has had a great first weekend, proving beyond a doubt that Sony's latest has at least hit home with its biggest fans. Although no specific sales data has been released, it did make it to the top of the all-format charts (knocking GRID 2 from its high point) and is thought to be the highest grossing new IP since L.A. Noire, which released in 2011. It's also the first Sony published game to reach the top spot since Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
