Villainous Review

When consuming different forms of media when it is based on something we love, it’s often hard to determine whether the media you are engaging with is actually good, or if you are looking and experiencing it with rose colored glasses. This was the worry I had when Ravesnburger first published Disney’s Villainous, but since the original release – and two stand-alone expansion – I can easily say that Villainous is one of the best games I’ve played within the…

Creative SXFI AIR

Creative SXFI AIR Review

A few weeks ago, we took a look at the Creative SXFI AIR and what made it stand out against other headsets. What we found out was that the Holographic Audio technology utilized by the headset is intended to provide an outstandingly realistic audio experience that aims to fool the user into believing the audio they are hearing is natural and genuine. While hearing the phrase 'holographic audio' for the first time might conjure images of Star Trek-ian technology, Holographic Audio, when broken down to its simplest form, is the next level of directional and ...

Main League of Legends Events of 2019 to Watch and Bet on

League of Legends is a video game developed and supported by Riot Games. Being a descendant of the first Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games as Heroes of Neverth (HoN) and Defense of the Ancients (DotA), LoL became probably the most popular game of this genre. The history of the League of Legends as a game began in the end of 2005. Some active members of the DotA community decided that the gameplay offered by the original Defense of the…

‘Would you kindly?’: The illusion of choice in gaming

Making choices in video games is a bit like a cool morris dancer or an ideal candidate for dealing with Brexit – they don’t exist. Even in games that pretend to offer decision after decision to affect your play, the reality is that you have only two choices. You can keep playing or you can turn it off. That’s it. That might sound reductionist, and in many ways it is, but think about it. Developers make a world that they…

Heroes of the Storm feat

The Rise and Fall of Heroes of the Storm

Years ago, when MOBA’s supremacy could not be questioned, I found myself playing DOTA2 and LoL, and feeling quite unfulfilled. There was no discernable progress aside from skill ranking, the team play aspect of the game was largely forgotten in PUGs and the toxicity level of the communities was potent enough to kill any fun that otherwise could’ve been enjoyed through the social side of the game. Enter Heroes of the Storm.

Google Pixel 3a Review

In October of 2018, we took the Google Pixel 3 XL for a test run, and loved our experiences with the phone, especially when it came to the camera. Even today, almost a year later, I still consider the Google Pixel 3 camera to be one of the best – if not the best – phone camera on the market. In step with out cell phone manufactures, Google has decided to launch a paired down version of the Google Pixel…

Lately, there has been a lot of buzz around the latest in audio technology to come from Creative, the SXFI AIR headphones. In fact, they even won 15 Best of CES awards for 2019. But what is it about Creative’s SXFI AIR that makes it so unique and worthy of all this attention?  The term that is being used to describe the edge that the Super X-Fi AIR has over its competitors is called Holographic Audio.
